WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University track and field teams continued their outdoor season Thursday by competing in day one of the UCM Kip and Kirk Outdoor Mule Relays hosted by the University of Central Missouri.
 
Running Events
(M) 800-meter Invite: Freshman Bailey Robinson earned a time of 2:22.49 and placed 11th overall. With her performance Robinson set a new personal best. 
 
(W) 1500-meter Open: Freshman Taylor Rodgers set a new personal best by crossing the line with a time of 5:06.24, securing 14th overall.
 
(W) 5000-meter Invite: Sophomore Olivia Bakker secured the new No. 5 spot in the Northwest record books after clocking a time of 17:27.03 to take third place in the event.
 
(M) 10000-meter Run: Austin Goetsche earned seventh place overall with a time of 32:33.63
 
Field Events
(M) Hammer Throw: Junior Josh Shelly had a throw of 52.96 (173-9) earning him 13th place.
 
Assistant Coach Tanner Berg secured first in the event as an unattached competitor with a throw of 73.07m (239-9).
 
(W) Hammer Throw: With a throw of 46.56m (152-9), Margherita Sala claimed 15th place – giving her the ninth-farthest throw in school history.

Northwest track and field will compete at day two of the UCM Kip and Kirk Outdoor Mule Relays tomorrow, April 10, along with taking its talents to the Arkansas Spring Invitational hosted by University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. on Saturday, April 11.
