ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The No. 50-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team scored a 6-1 dual victory Friday over the Augustana Vikings in a match held at the Genesis Indoor Courts.
Northwest gained its first MIAA dual win of the year and improved to 9-7 overall. Augustana dipped to 4-9 overall and 0-3 in MIAA matches. Northwest has won three straight dual matches and has been victorious in four of its last five outings.
Northwest took control early by staking claim to the doubles' point by winning all three matches that were contested.
The Bearcats managed to take five of the six singles' matches for the 6-1 dual win.
Bernardo Henriques won his fifth straight singles' match and
Pavlo Vysotin notched his third consecutive victory to lead the Bearcats to the conference victory.
