The Northwest Missouri State University softball team will celebrate Senior Day Friday as the Bearcats play host to the Missouri Western Griffons to close out the MIAA regular season schedule.

The Northwest and MoWest will hook up Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at the Bearcat Softball Field.
Â
The Bearcats will honor six seniors at the conclusion of the second game against the Griffons. Northwest will acknowledge the careers of
Alexis Brown (Des Moines, Iowa/Des Moines East HS),
Jaeleigh Darnell (Auburn, Neb./Auburn HS/Sioux Falls),
Sara Farlow (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny Centennial HS),
Omara Love (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit HS),
Cora Schweitzer (Malcolm, Neb./Malcolm HS) and
Jadyn Streigle (Knoxville, Iowa/Knoxville HS).

Northwest enters this week's action with a 31-18 overall record. The Bearcats are 10-12 in MIAA play. Missouri Western is 30-17 overall and 9-13Â in league games but have won five straight games. MoWest is 4-10 in road games this year. Northwest is 8-4 in home games this season. MoWest holds a 74-65 lead in the all-time series with Northwest. Northwest has won five of the last seven encounters with MoWest.

The Bearcats are tied for eighth in the MIAA standings. The top 10 teams will qualify for the 2026 MIAA Tournament set for May 6-9 in Emporia, Kan. The Bearcats have clinched a spot in the field. Northwest will be seeded No. 7, No. 8. No. 9 or No. 10 for the tournament.

Northwest has produced the seventh 30-win season in program history. Northwest's 31 wins ranks as the sixth-most wins in a season in Bearcat softball history. It is the third time that head coach
Naomi Tellez has produced 28 wins in a season since taking over the program. This year's 31-win total is the most since a 37-win season in 2016 for then head coach Ryan Anderson.
