The Northwest Missouri State University tennis teams remain ranked in the ITA national rankings released today.
The Bearcat women are ranked No. 41, while the Northwest men are ranked No. 49.
The women will close the MIAA regular season today at home at 3 p.m. with a dual against No. 39-ranked Missouri Western Griffons.
The Northwest women are 15-4 overall and 6-2 in MIAA play. The Missouri Western women are 16-3 overall and 7-1 in MIAA dual action. A Griffon victory would clinche a regular season title for MWSU. A Northwest win would pull the Bearcats even with the Griffons in the MIAA and a shot at second place.
Chiharu Ito leads the Bearcat women with a 16-2 singles record. Ito is 15-2 at No. 3 singles and has won four straight matches.
Polina Gontaryk is 15-4 in singles, including a 13-2 mark at No. 5 singles. Gontaryk has won 14 of her last 15 singles matches. Gontaryk has also notched a team-best 15 doubles wins.
Majra Djokic is 14-6 in singles. She is 13-5 at No. 2 singles with a 1-1 mark against nationally-ranked foes. Djokic has tallied 14 doubles wins including a 13-4 mark with Gontaryk.
Polina Agapitova is 13-3 on the season with a 11-3 mark at No. 6 singles.
