Dea and Witt rewrite 800m record books at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – The Northwest Missouri State University track and field squads delivered top-tier performances and broke school records at day two of the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University.
 
The Bearcat men's 800-meter crew rewrote the school record books in the 800-meter run, led by a school-record performance from Riley Witt. Witt and Maxime Touron now hold the top two times in Northwest history after finishing third and fifth among Division II athletes in the Invitational section. In the Open section, Christian Lanphier and Charlie Kinslow surged into the No. 3 and No. 4 spots on the Northwest all-time list, with both athletes capturing provisional marks in the process.
 
On the women's side, sophomore Marie Dea shattered the school record in the 800-meter run while competing against Division I talent. Dea's time earned her fourth place among Division II athletes.
 
Bryan Clay Invitational Results – Day 2
(M) 800-meter Open: Junior Christian Lanphier secured 13th overall with a Division II provisional time of 1:49.84 – earning him the third-fastest time in school history. Charlie Kinslow followed close behind with a provisional time of 1:50.20, claiming 16th, and earning the new fourth-fastest time in the Northwest record books. Lanphier and Kinslow earned sixth and seventh among Div. II competitors in the race and both claimed new personal bests. 
 
(M) 800-meter Invite: Riley Witt broke his own men's 800-meter school record with a provisional time of 1:48.23, earning 22nd overall and capturing the third-best Div. II finish of the race. Maxime Touron found similar success in the race, claiming 24th in the event and fifth among Div. II runners with a provisional time of 1:48.50 – beating his own second-fastest time in school history. Both Witt and Touron set new personal bests. 
 
(W) 800-meter Invite: Marie Dea delivered an incredible performance, breaking the women's 800-meter run school record with a new Div. II provisional time of 2:06.35, allowing her to claim fourth within Div. II athletes and place 41st overall. Dea's time earned her a new personal best. Junior Jadyn Barnes earned a provisional time of 2:10.29 while placing 112th overall and 19th among Div. II athletes. Senior Lydia McGlocklin placed 126th in the event and had the 20th best finish among Div. II competitors with a time of 2:13.27.
