Northwest Missouri State University's men's and women's tennis teams are both listed as under consideration for NCAA Division II tournament qualification in the first regional rankings of the spring.

Head coach Mark Rosewell, who has tallied 1,312 coaching wins including 1,290 at Northwest, has the Bearcat squads in contention for postseason play again. 
 
The Northwest men are one of six teams in the initial NCAA Central Region rankings. Northwest's NCAA Div. II record is 9-5 and the Bearcats are 8-4 in the region. The Central Region will have an allocation of five teams (conference champion and four at-large bids) in the 48-team NCAA Tournament field and two teams will advance from the Central Region to the finals site (Surprise, Ariz. - May 19-24). It would be the 24th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance for the men's program.
 
The Northwest women are one of eight teams in the first NCAA Central Region rankings. Northwest is 14-3 against Div. II opponents and 13-2 in regional matchups. The Central Region will have an allocation of six teams (three conference champions and three at-large bids) in the 48-team NCAA Tournament field and two teams will advance from the Central Region to the finals site (Surprise, Ariz. - May 19-24). Northwest is looking for its 23rd all-time NCAA Tournament bid.
