The Northwest Missouri State University outdoor track and field squads will travel to Emporia, Kan., once again this season for the ESU Relays on Thursday, April 16, while also making a trip to Azusa, Calif., for the three-day Bryan Clay Invitational from April 16-18.

ESU Relays Meet Information:
Both field and track events will begin at 10:30 a.m.
 
Bryan Clay Invitational Meet Information:
On Thursday the running events will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT. On Friday the field events will begin at 1 p.m. and the track events will begin 9 a.m. CT. On Saturday the field events will 11:00 a.m. with the running events beginning earlier at 10:20 a.m.
 
In-person spectators can purchase single day tickets for $15.

2025-26 OUTDOOR SEASON CHECK-IN:
Northwest continued its successful outdoor season over the weekend by competing in the UCM Kip and Kirk Outdoor Mule Relays and the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Warrensburg, Mo, and Fayetteville, Ark.
 
The Bearcats secured 13 new provisional marks, two event titles, and made numerous updates to the school record books over the course of the two meets.
 
In the recent week three USTFCCCA TFRI rankings the men ranked 17th nationally and seventh in the Central Region, while the women check in at No. 30 nationally and No. 7 in the Central Region. 
 
The Bearcat men's squad ranks fifth in the MIAA while the women's squad comes in at seventh in the conference USTFCCCA TFRI rankings.
 
Northwest has collected 17 NCAA Division II provisional marks this season across seven meets— eight by the Bearcat men and 9 by the women.
 
Facing off against Division I talent at the Arkansas Spring Invitational, Melanie Roland secured the event title in the women's 400-meter run while also claiming the new No. 2 spot in the school record books.
 
David Parker II also etched his name at No. 2 in the Northwest record books, claiming second place in the men's triple jump. 
 
Jaurdin Mallory showcased her impressive skills by capturing two provisional marks in the women's 100 and 200-meter dashes, earning new times in the school record books, and placing first and third among Division II athletes respectively. 
 
In the men's 400-meter hurdles, Danny Jantzen crossed the line as the top Division II finisher, securing a provisional mark and the third-fastest time in school history.
 
Northwest also showcased its depth in the relay events, as the women's 4x100-meter team and the men's 4x400-meter squad both secured top Division II finishes, recorded NCAA provisional marks, and etched their names into the Northwest's all-time top five.
 
At the UCM Mule Relays, Olivia Bakker delivered a standout performance for the 'Cats in the women's 5000-meter run, securing third place, as well as giving her a new spot in the school record books. 
 
Elijah Dix also showcased his talents by claiming the event title in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award is awarded annually to the most outstanding cross country/track & field programs in each of the NCAA's three divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA for each gender in those levels. The award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution's finish at their respective national championships.
 
Based on the team's finish at each championship (1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points, etc.) with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award recipient. Ties among schools split points for positions taken.
 
Northwest's men's squad currently ranks sixth among Division II programs with 19 points. The Bearcats earned 11 points from an 11th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships and added eight points following an eighth-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships.
