Women up to No. 32; Men land at No. 50 in latest ITA national rankings

The Northwest Missouri State University women's and men's tennis teams will take on Northeastern State and Augustana with the matches having been moved the Genesis Indoor Courts in St. Joseph, Mo. Sunday's matches against Southeastern Oklahoma State have been canceled. 
 
The Northwest women and men will meet Northeastern State Thursday at 1 p.m. The women's match will be a conference dual. The NSU women are 8-4 overall and 1-0 in MIAA play. The NSU men are 5-6 overall.
 
The Bearcat women and men will square off Friday at 1 p.m. in non-conference matchups with the Augustana Vikings. The Augustana women are 15-2 overall and 8-0 in NSIC matches. The Augustana men are 4-8 overall and 0-2 in NSIC play.
 
The No. 32-ranked Northwest women are 12-1 overall and have won 11 consecutive dual matches. The 11 straight wins ties for the fifth-longest win streak in program history.

A trio of Bearcat women's tennis players have won 11 consecutive dual matches in Polina Agapitova (11-0 overall), Polina Gontaryk (12-3 overall) and Chiharu Ito (11-1 overall). Laura Prieto Sieiro has won eight straight singles' matches in dual competition. Majra Djokic and Gontaryk are tied for the team lead in singles' victories with 12 each.
 
The Northwest women have captured the doubles' point in 10 of 12 dual matches this season. The only two times Northwest has failed to win the doubles' point came against No. 8 Midwestern State (Feb. 6) and at UMSL (March 21).
 
The No. 3 doubles' pairing of Chiharu Ito and Miru Nonaka have won three straight matches and are 8-4 on the season.
 
The No. 50-ranked Bearcat men's tennis team is 7-7 overall and 0-1 in MIAA play. Pavlo Vysotin leads the team with 11 singles' wins. Konstantin Feiel ranks second on the squad with 10 singles' victories. The doubles' duo of Dominik Wijntjes and Gage Foltz is ranked No. 29 in the nation. The Wijntjes/Foltz pairing has collected five wins this season.
