Another busy week of MIAA action awaits the Northwest Missouri State University baseball team with four contests on the docket.
The Bearcats (22-9 overall, 12-5 MIAA) will play host to Central Missouri Tuesday at 2 p.m., before heading to Arkansas-Fort Smith for a three-game set Thursday-Saturday with all three games at 1 p.m.
The Mules are ranked No. 7 in the latest ABCA Top 25 and possess a record of 24-5 overall and 15-3 in MIAA play. Northwest and Central met March 14 in Warrensburg, Mo., with the Mules coming away with an 11-7 win.
The Lions are 4-25 overall and 3-17 in MIAA play. The Lions have lost eight consecutive games entering this week's play. UAFS will travel to Northeastern State for a single game Tuesday before taking on the Bearcats in a three-game league series.
Northwest has won seven consecutive series this season and has not dropped a series this year. Northwest has recorded series victories over Arkansas-Monticello (3-1), CSU Pueblo (3-1), Fort Hays State (2-1), Emporia State (2-1), Missouri Southern (3-0), Washburn (2-1) and No. 2 Pittsburg State (3-0). Northwest is 5-0 in MIAA series this year.
Northwest is 8-2 in one-run games. The Bearcats have outscored the opposition 70-34 in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings this season. Northwest is 2-1 in extra-inning contests.
The Bearcats finished a three-game sweep of the No. 2-ranked Pittsburg State Gorillas with an 11th-inning walk-off victory on Sunday. Northwest trailed 6-0 after two innings but rallied to finish the sweep with a 9-8 extra-inning victory. Northwest won game one, 11-9 (10 inn.), game two, 2-1, and then 9-8 (11 inn.) on Sunday. It was Northwest's first three-game sweep of Pittsburg State since the 2017 season. It was also Northwest's first home sweep of the Gorillas since 2016.
Northwest ranks No. 8 in the nation in batters hit by pitches (75).

Northwest head coach
Tony Jandron led the Bearcats to a berth in the 2025 MIAA Baseball Tournament championship game while securing the most ever wins by a first-year coach in program history.
Jandron guided the Bearcats to a 27-25 mark in the 2025 season. Northwest went 19-17 in MIAA play and earned the No. 6 seed in the 2025 MIAA Tournament. In 2025, the Bearcats set the program record for home runs (57) in a single season.
The Bearcats were selected to finish ninth in the 2026 MIAA preseason coaches poll.
