MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team defended its home court with a 6-1 victory Wednesday afternoon over NAIA foe William Woods.
The Bearcats evened their season mark at 6-6. William Woods saw its six-match win streak snapped as it dropped to 9-4 overall.
William Woods snared the doubles' point by scoring wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Northwest's No. 3 doubles' pairing of
Gage Foltz and Pvalo Vysotin gained a 6-2 victory over WWU's Bruno Matta and Paulo Lopes Ferreria.
The Bearcats turned it around in singles play by notching four straight-sets wins and a pair in a third-set super tiebreaker.Â
Pavlo Vysoting locked up his fifth straight singles' win with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at No. 2 singles over WWU's Cole Horton. No. 1
Dominik Wijntjes got past WWU's top layer Duarte Melo with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win.
Jules Subra breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles over WWU's Jesper Seger.
Konstantin Feiel collected a 6-4, 6-4 victory over WWU's Noah Burton at No. 3 singles.

Bernardo Henriques were forced to third-set super tiebreakers but both Bearcats prevailed for the 6-1 dual win.
