Northwest Missouri State University distance runner Aziz Mohammed captured the MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor.

It is the second time this season Mohammed (Dunkwa-on-offin, Central, Ghana / Mfantsipim / West Texas A&M) has earned the MIAA's top men's athlete of the week honor after he did it previously on Jan. 20 in the indoor season.

Mohammed gained the nation's fastest time (3:40.69) and set the school record in the 1,500-meter run at the Spire Distance Carnival in Leavenworth, Kan.

Mohammed placed first and earned an NCAA Div. II provisional time in his first outdoor meet of the season as he edged out Pittsburg State's Dylan Sprecker at the finish. Sprecker was the NCAA Div. II national champion in the indoor mile.
