MAYETTA, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team battled a chilly morning and completed 36 holes on day one of the 2026 Firekeeper Open hosted by Washburn University.
The Bearcats are tied for seventh in the 13-team field following two rounds on Monday at the Firekeeper Golf Course.
Lauren Briggs is Northwest's top golfer through the first two rounds. Briggs is tied for 13th with scores of 75-80 (+11). Briggs had five birdies on the day with three in the opening round and two more in the final 18. Her five birdies are tied for the sixth-most in the field.
Clara Peake shot rounds of 83 and 78 (+17), which included a trio of birdies on her two tours of the course.
Beatriz Pinheiro is tied for 30th after two rounds. Pinheiro notched scores of 81 and 79 (+16). Pinheiro recorded an eagle on the par-4, 315-yard 17th hole.
The par-72 course played at 5,820 yards.
The final 18 holes are set for Tuesday.
