Northwest Missouri State senior right fielder Alexis Brown has been named the MIAA Softball Hitter of the Week.

Brown batted .727 with eight hits in 11 at-bats. She knocked in six runs and scored four as Northwest went 2-2 in MIAA play.

In game one at Rogers State, Brown went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored. In a doubleheader at NSU, Brown did not make an out in six at-bats. She went 6-for-6 with four RBI, a triple and three runs scored.

The Bearcat softball squad (22-7 overall, 2-2 MIAA) will play a pair of home doubleheaders this week against Fort Hays State (Friday, 1 p.m./3 p.m.) and Central Missouri (Saturday, 12 p.m./2 p.m.)
