Bearcats take 2nd; Four golfers earn top-10 finishes at Midwest Intercollegiate

BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf squad cemented a second-place finish in a 10-team field with a final-round score of 313 at the 2026 Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational held at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club.
 
No. 31-ranked Central Missouri claimed the team title with a two-round score of 623. Northwest finished 13 shots behind the Jennies for outright second place with a 36-hole total of 636 (323-313). The par-72 course played to a course layout of 6,092 yards.
 
The Bearcats led the field with 15 birdies, including a tournament-best six from Clara Peake.

Peake tied for second overall with a final round that included four birdies. Peake fired a final-round 74 (+2) for a two-round total of 153 (+9). Peake notched birdies at No. 3, No. 6, No. 11 and No. 17. Peake fared the best of anyone in the field on the par-3s (2.75 avg) as she was 2-under par on those holes. It is the fourth time in her Bearcat career that Peake finished in the top-10. It is Peake's best finish as a Bearcat and her second top-five finish this season.

Lauren Briggs gained her fourth career top-10 finish as she covered the 36-hole event in 158 strokes (+14). Briggs carded back-to-back 79s on her scorecard. Briggs had a birdie on No. 5 in Wednesday's final round.
 
Lexi Bartley earned her second career top-10 finish as she shot a final-round 78 (+6). Bartley had a two-round total of 162 (+18) in the 36-hole event. Bartley had two birdies Wednesday at No. 4 and No. 9.
 
Shaylee Ficken placed 13th overall with a two-round total of 163 (+19). Ficken collected birdies at No. 1 and No. 16 in Wednesday's final round.
 
Transfer Beatriz Pinheiro, playing as an individual, shot a second-round 79 (+8) and finished with a two-round total of 159. Pinheiro collected a birdie at the par-3 17th hole. It is Pinheiro's first top-10 finish as a Bearcat.
 
Another individual performer Delaney Medlyn produced three birdies and shot a second-round 80 (+8). Medlyn secured birdies at No. 4, No. 8 and No. 11.
 
The latest national rankings were released Wednesday with Northwest coming in at No. 73. Northwest is ranked No. 13 in the Central Region. The top 18 teams in the Central Region will qualify for the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
