BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team sits in second place following day one of the weather-delayed 2026 Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational held at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club.

The Bearcats shot an opening team round of 323 (+35) and are 10 shots out of first place held by No. 36-ranked Central Missouri who fired a first-round 313 (+25). Northwest led the field with six first-round birdies.

The par-72 course played to a course layout of 6,092 yards.

Lauren Briggs and
Clara Peake each fired first-round scores of 79 (+7), which has them tied for seventh in the field. Briggs secured her lone birdie on the sixth hole. Peake had birdies at No. 2 and No. 11 in Tuesday's round.

Shaylee Ficken is in 11th after she tallied a first-round scorecard of 81 (+9). Ficken secured birdies at No. 6 and No. 9. Ficken posted Northwest's best back-nine score of 39.

Beatriz Pinheiro, who is playing this tournament as an individual, opened with a first-round 80 (+8). Pinheiro recorded a birdie on No. 16.
