The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team will take a six-game winning streak into this week's slate of action at No. 8-ranked Central Missouri and a three-game series at Washburn.
 
The Bearcats (17-6 overall, 7-2 MIAA) sit in third place in the league standings. Rogers State sits atop the MIAA ledger at 8-1 in league games, while Pittsburg State is in second place at 12-2 in conference tilts.
 
Northwest has generated 11 road wins this season, which ranks tied for the fourth-most road wins in the nation. Only Point Loma (13), North Georgia (13) and Wingate (12) have more road victories this season than Northwest.
 
The Bearcats will square off Wednesday at 3 p.m. at No. 8-ranked Central Missouri. The Mules are 19-5 overall and 10-3 in MIAA play. The Mules are 9-1 at home this season. UCM owns a 152-72-1 lead in the all-time series with Northwest. Northwest took two of three games last season against UCM to win the season series against the Mules since the 2018 campaign.
 
Northwest will travel to Topeka, Kan., to match up against the Washburn Ichabods in a three-game set beginning Friday. The Ichabods are 8-15 overall and 5-6 in MIAA play. Washburn is 1-3 at home this season. Northwest holds a 71-66 lead in the all-times series vs. Washburn. Northwest has won four straight game against Washburn.
 
The Bearcats are off to a 17-6 start – the best start in program history since Northwest began the 2003 season at 20-6 overall.
 
Northwest has won five consecutive series, including all three of its MIAA series this season. Northwest has recorded series victories over Arkansas-Monticello (3-1), CSU Pueblo (3-1), Fort Hays State (2-1), Emporia State (2-1) and Missouri Southern (3-0).
 
Northwest is 6-1 in one-run games. The Bearcats have outscored the opposition 32-6 in the eighth and ninth innings this season. Over the final three innings of games, Northwest has tallied 48 runs and allowed only 12.
 
Northwest ranks No. 6 in the nation in batters hit by pitches (57).

Senior Landon Wells is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA in 16 2/3 innings pitched … has struck out 18 and walked five.
 
Sophomore Leonardo May is 3-1 in his four starts with 2.35 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP.
 
Senior Ben Haug is 1-0 in five starts … he has a 6.94 ERA and owns a save … he has struck out 21 batters.
 
Sophomore Gage Busby is the team leader with 28 strikeouts … has made six starts and is 1-2 with a 7.36 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP.
 
Northwest head coach Tony Jandron led the Bearcats to a berth in the 2025 MIAA Baseball Tournament championship game while securing the most ever wins by a first-year coach in program history.
 
Jandron guided the Bearcats to a 27-25 mark in the 2025 season. Northwest went 19-17 in MIAA play and earned the No. 6 seed in the 2025 MIAA Tournament. In 2025, the Bearcats set the program record for home runs (57) in a single season.
 
The Bearcats were selected to finish ninth in the 2026 MIAA preseason coaches poll.
