The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team will take a six-game winning streak into this week's slate of action at No. 8-ranked Central Missouri and a three-game series at Washburn.

The Bearcats (17-6 overall, 7-2 MIAA) sit in third place in the league standings. Rogers State sits atop the MIAA ledger at 8-1 in league games, while Pittsburg State is in second place at 12-2 in conference tilts.

Northwest has generated 11 road wins this season, which ranks tied for the fourth-most road wins in the nation. Only Point Loma (13), North Georgia (13) and Wingate (12) have more road victories this season than Northwest.

The Bearcats will square off Wednesday at 3 p.m. at No. 8-ranked Central Missouri. The Mules are 19-5 overall and 10-3 in MIAA play. The Mules are 9-1 at home this season. UCM owns a 152-72-1 lead in the all-time series with Northwest. Northwest took two of three games last season against UCM to win the season series against the Mules since the 2018 campaign.

Northwest will travel to Topeka, Kan., to match up against the Washburn Ichabods in a three-game set beginning Friday. The Ichabods are 8-15 overall and 5-6 in MIAA play. Washburn is 1-3 at home this season. Northwest holds a 71-66 lead in the all-times series vs. Washburn. Northwest has won four straight game against Washburn.

The Bearcats are off to a 17-6 start – the best start in program history since Northwest began the 2003 season at 20-6 overall.

Northwest has won five consecutive series, including all three of its MIAA series this season. Northwest has recorded series victories over Arkansas-Monticello (3-1), CSU Pueblo (3-1), Fort Hays State (2-1), Emporia State (2-1) and Missouri Southern (3-0).
