VIRGINA BEACH, Va. – The Northwest Missouri State University indoor track and field squads finished off the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center with a pair of top-eight team finishes.
The Northwest women scored 22 points, placing seventh, and tying the team's highest finish in program history that it earned in 2024. The Bearcat men secured their fourth-highest team finish in program history, placing eighth overall with 22 points.
It is the eighth top-10 national finish for the Bearcat men at the NCAA indoor championships. It is the fourth top-10 finish for the Northwest women at the NCAA indoor championships.
The Bearcats totaled 27 All-America honors over the course of the two-day meet. With four relay squads and seven individuals claiming first-team status and four individuals earning second-team recognition.
Melanie Roland earned a runner-up finish for the Bearcats in the women's 400-meter dash along with posting her own second-fastest time in Northwest history.
Kennedi Cline placed third in the finals and both Bearcats achieved first-team all-America performances.
Dominic Sedlacek captured a runner-up finish as well in the men's 60-meter dash, earning himself All-America first-team recognition.
The men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams provided strong first team All-America finishes to cap off the meet the men claiming sixth and the women taking home third.

NCAA DIVISION II INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
(M) 60-meter Dash: Senior
Dominic Sedlacek captured second place in the finals with a time of 6.62. Sedlacek's second-place finish earned him his fourth indoor and outdoor all-America distinction.
(M) 60-meter Hurdles: Sophomore
Frank Sparks crossed the finish line with a time of 7.89 earning him sixth place overall. Sparks earned his first ever all-America first-team honor from finishing in the top eight.
(M) 400-meter Dash: Senior
Truman Hare claimed a time of 47.05 and placed eighth overall. Hare earned his seventh indoor and outdoor all-America distinction with his eighth-place finish.
(W) 400-meter Dash: Senior
Melanie Roland captured a runner-up finish for the Bearcats with a time of 53.36 – beating her own second-best time in school history. Just a little under a second behind was sophomore
Kennedi Cline with a time of 53.98, securing third place. Roland earned her fourth indoor and outdoor all-America honor along with Cline who secured her third.
(M) 1-mile Run: Senior
Riley Witt crossed the finish line with a time of 4:12.99, claiming eighth place. Witt's finals finish earned him his seventh indoor and outdoor all-America recognition.
(M) 4x400-meter Relay: Northwest's 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of

Christian Lanphier placed sixth overall with a time of 3:10.87. Their time ranks as the fifth-fastest time in school history and earned the squad all-America first-team honors.

Marie Dea captured third place in the women's 4x400-meter relay, posting a time of 3:39.35. Their mark ranks as the second-best time this season and earned each member of the team all-America first-team recognition.
(W) Pentathlon: Sophomore
Anjelena Carder placed eighth overall in the women's pentathlon and secured a score of 3732 points. Carder's placement earned her first-ever first-team all-America distinction.
Starting off the women's pentathlon, Carder took third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.83 – tying her for the fifth-fastest 60-meter time in school history. Next up, in the pentathlon high jump, Carder tied for 14th with a leap of 1.53m (5-0.25). Carder then claimed 13th in the shot put event with a throw of 11.08m (36-4.25). In the pentathlon high jump, Carder leaped 5.39m 17-8.25 to earn 11th place in the event. In her final event, Carder placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.13. Carder set new personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles and shot put along with tying her long jump personal best.
(M) Shot Put: In his NCAA championships debut, freshman
Ethan Gaschler finished ninth overall with a throw of 17.80m (58-4.75), earning him second-team all-America honors.
