Northwest T&F ready for 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships

The Northwest Missouri State track and field team will travel to Virginia Beach, Va. for the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled to take place from Friday, Mar. 13 to Saturday, Mar. 14. The Championships will be hosted by Norfolk State University and Visit Virginia Beach at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
 
NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Meet Information:
The championships open Friday with the men's heptathlon at 10:00 a.m. ET. Field events begin at 2 p.m. ET, followed by track events at 2:45 p.m. ET. Saturday starts with the women's pentathlon at 10 a.m. ET, with field events at 12 p.m. ET and running events at 3:40 p.m. ET.
 
The 2026 NCAA DII indoor track and field championships will be streamed here on NCAA.com.
 
In-person spectators can purchase single day tickets for adults at $23.56 and $14.60 for students/children (3-17). Two-day passes are available for $34.34. Tickets for the championship meet can be purchased here.
 
The Bearcats will send 22 athletes to compete in the championships with 12 from the men's squad and eight from the women's team. Additionally, two more athletes will join them at the national meet.

2025 NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Bearcats claimed 20 All-America honors during the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Fall Creek Pavilion. The Bearcat men recorded their highest team finish at the NCAA indoor championships since 1987, placing 5th overall with 30 points. The Northwest women scored four points, tying for 36th place in the team standings. 
 
Northwest athletes earned 20 All-American honors, with 17 athletes named to First Team and three to Second Team.

2025-26 INDOOR SEASON CHECK-IN:
Northwest has enjoyed a successful 2025–26 indoor season, with the men's squad holding steady at No. 5 nationally and the women's team rising to No. 12 in the country.
 
Both teams hold steady with their Central Region rankings, with the men at No. 2 and the women at No. 3. Both the Bearcat men (115 points) and women (106 points) claimed runner-up team finishes at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Conference Championships.
 
In the women's 4x400-meter relay, Northwest claimed the title while breaking the MIAA Championship meet record. The quartet of Melanie Roland, Marie Dea, Jadyn Barnes, and Kennedi Cline also recorded the third-fastest time in school history.
 
Cline added to her impressive day by competing in both the women's 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, earning podium finishes in each event. Roland found similar success, capturing the overall event crown in the 400-meter dash.
 
On the men's side, sophomore Frank Sparks contributed a runner-up podium finish for the Bearcats while breaking the school record in the 60-meter hurdles.
