MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University indoor track and field opened the Bearcat Invite meet with three titles and three Division II provisional times Friday at Hughes Fieldhouse.

Anjelena Carder had an impressive collegiate pentathlon debut by securing first place with an NCAA Division II provisional score and making it into the school record books at No. 7 with 3,594 points.

In the men's 4000 distance medley, Northwest runners

Charlie Kinslow and
Aziz Mohammed claimed first with a Division II provisional time, earning the third-best time in the nation this season.

Jessa Cassity took eighth out of 30 competitors, finishing with a time of 18:13.03 setting a new personal best.

(M) Distance Medley Relay: Two Northwest teams competed in the event. Northwest's first team, featuring
Riley Witt,
Logan Arellano,
Charlie Kinslow and
Aziz Mohammed claimed the title along with a Div. II provisional time of 9:39.65 – setting the third-best time in the nation this season and the second-fastest time in school history.

Jack Williams finished with a time of 10:22.81 earning sixth place.

Kiki Witt competed in the distance medley, securing a Div. II provisional time of 11:38.82 and placed 1st – giving them both the sixth-best time in the nation this season and the sixth-fastest time in school history.
(W) Pentathlon: Sophomore
Anjelena Carder had an impressive performance placing first overall in the women's pentathlon and securing a Div. II provisional score of 3,594 points – the seventh-highest score in school history.

In the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles Carder placed fifth overall with a time of 9.19. Setting a new meet record in the women's pentathlon 800-meter run, Carder crossed the line at 2:14.60, earning her first place. Carder took fifth in the pentathlon high jump with a leap of 1.52m (4-11.75). In the pentathlon long jump Carder had a jump of 5.52m (17-01.25), earning her fourth. With a throw of 10.53m (34-06.75) Carder secured third in the pentathlon shot put. Carder set new personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles, 800-meter run, long jump, and shot put.
