HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team put up 33 runs in a Friday doubleheader sweep of the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils at Majestic Park.
The Bearcats thumped the Boll Weevils in game on, 15-1, and then proceeded to pound out an 18-8 triumph in game two. Northwest is 4-2 on the year, while UAM is 0-2.

GAME ONE
Northwest Missouri State University secured a decisive 15-1 victory over UAM in the first game of a twinbill.

Northwest tallied 14 hits, including three home runs, while limiting the Boll Weevils to just one run on four hits.

Northwest Missouri State took control early in the contest against Arkansas-Monticello, beginning with a strong performance in the second inning.
Sam Wornson doubled to center field and, after a walk to
Parker Griffith,
Jordi Ventura grounded out to advance the runners.
Michael Good delivered a crucial single to center field, driving in both Wornson and Griffith to give Northwest a 2-0 lead.

The offensive momentum continued in the third inning, highlighted by a significant scoring surge.
Chester Brooks started with a double, followed by
Frank Gall reaching on a fielder's choice.
Wilmer Jimenez then cleared the bases with a three-run home run to right field, extending the lead to 5-0. The inning continued with
Jeremiah Cabuyaban and
John Connors hitting back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Wornson's two-RBI triple to right center.
Clement Carrasquero grounded out to bring Wornson home, and Ventura capped the inning with a solo home run, resulting in a seven-run inning and a commanding 9-0 advantage.

In the fourth inning, Northwest added five more runs. Gall scored on an error, followed by a two-RBI double from Ventura. Good's single drove in Ventura for the final run of the inning, pushing the lead to 14-0. The Weevils managed to get on the board in the bottom half with a solo home run by E. Olaybal, but Northwest remained in control, leading 14-1.

The visiting team added another run in the seventh inning when Cabuyaban homered, further extending the lead. Strong pitching performances, including a scoreless seventh inning by
Nick Brubeck and
Micah Diamond, prevented any further scoring from the Weevils. The game concluded with Northwest securing a decisive 15-1 victory.

Leonardo May started the game for Northwest, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing one earned run on four hits, while striking out three and walking two.
Logan Brasel provided a strong relief performance, striking out four batters over 2.0 perfect innings, not allowing a hit or a walk. Brubeck faced control issues, walking three batters in 2/3 innings but managed to strike out two without giving up a hit. Diamond closed the game by recording an out on a fly ball in his brief 1/3 inning appearance, maintaining a hitless outing.

Jimenez delivered a strong performance by hitting a home run and collecting three RBIs, while also scoring twice. Cabuyaban contributed with two hits, including a home run, and added an RBI to his tally. Ventura showcased his power by hitting a home run and driving in three runs, scoring twice himself. Wornson added a triple and a double, contributing two RBIs and three runs.

The Bearcat bats continued to sizzle in game two as Northwest bashed its way to an 18-8 victory in seven innings.

Frank Gall started the momentum with a single and two stolen bases, followed by an RBI single from
Sam Wornson.

Clement Carrasquero capped the scoring with a grand slam, giving the Bearcats a 6–1 advantage after one inning.

The Bearcats continued their offensive display in the second inning, as Wornson launched a two-run homer after
Jeremiah Cabuyaban's walk. Brooks added another RBI with a single, and Gall contributed with a two-RBI single, extending the lead to 10–4 after two innings.

In the third inning, Northwest Missouri State piled on seven more runs. Wornson's RBI groundout and Brooks' RBI double highlighted the frame. Gall delivered a critical blow with a grand slam, pushing the lead to 17–4 through three innings.

Arkansas-Monticello attempted a comeback in the fifth inning with a three-run homer from D. Barry, narrowing the gap to 17–8. However, Leonard May's aggressive baserunning in the seventh inning led to an additional unearned run for the Bearcats, sealing an 18–8 victory.

Ben Haug start the game and get the win. Haug pitched an inning with two earned runs, two hits, and a strikeout, throwing 33 pitches with a WHIP of 4.00.

Gall led the team with four hits and six RBIs, including a home run, while also stealing three bases. Wornson added two hits and four RBIs, hitting a home run to contribute to the scoring. Brooks recorded four hits and two doubles, scoring three runs. Carrasquero drove in five runs with a home run and added two runs scored to the team's total.
