PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University indoor track and field teams delivered a successful day two performance at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University, highlighted by multiple school records and new provisional qualifying marks.

Dominic Sedlacek set a new Bearcat mark in the 60-meter dash, breaking his own school record for the second time this season. Freshman
Kyle Emerson found similar success, climbing to No. 2 in school history with his performance in the event.

Kennedi Cline continued her standout season by placing third in the women's 200-meter dash and recording the second-fastest time in program history. Cline, alongside
Melanie Roland, also turned in strong performances in the women's 400-meter dash, where Roland and Cline finished first and second, respectively. Roland's time further improved her standing in the school record books.

The Northwest men also excelled in the 400-meter dash, with all three runners earning spots in the program's top marks list. Senior
Truman Hare broke the school record, posting a new provisional qualifying time and finishing second overall.
Logan Arellano and
Danny Jantzen also entered the record books, ranking No. 4 and No. 8 in program history, respectively.

Dustin Wurtz delivered an impressive performance in the men's weight throw, breaking the school record in the event.

Audrey Gibson,
Taylor McCreedy, and
Kiki Witt capped the day with an impressive performance, capturing the MIAA crown.

Running Events
(M) 60-meter Dash Prelims: Senior
Dominic Sedlacek crushed his previous school record for the second time this season with a Div. II provisional time of 6.61 and secured second place. Freshman
Kyle Emerson followed in kind, placing fourth with a provisional time of 6.72 – giving him the second fastest time in school history. Both Sedlacek and Emerson set new personal bests and will both compete in the 60-meter dash finals tomorrow at 2:20 p.m.

Krysta Abel earned second place overall in the prelims with a Div. II provisional time of 7.50.
Jaurdin Mallory beat her own fifth fastest time in school history by recording a Div. II provisional time of 7.59, securing fourth. Following right behind Mallory was
Campbell Barta who placed seventh with a time of 7.60. Abel, Mallory, and Barta all set qualifying times and will compete in the finals tomorrow at 2:25 p.m.

(M) 60-meter Hurdles Prelims: Sophomore
Frank Sparks secured fourth overall, crossing the line at 7.90. Senior
Moses Koroma provided a provisional time of 7.98, placing seventh. Spark and Koroma qualified for the finals in the men's 60-meter hurdles and will compete at 2:05 p.m. tomorrow.

(W) 60-meter Hurdles Prelims: Freshman
Josie McGraw earned a qualifying time of 8.90, capturing eighth. McGraw's time tied her for the tenth-fastest women's 60-meter hurdle time in school history. McGraw will compete at 2:15 p.m. in the finals tomorrow.
(M) 200m Dash Prelims: Freshman
Kyle Emerson set the new sixth-fastest time in school history with a Div. II provisional time of 21.54, placing fourth overall. Emerson set a new personal best and qualified for the finals tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.

Kennedi Cline secured the new Northwest women's 200-meter dash second fastest time, with a new provisional mark of 23.95 and placed third overall. Cline earned a new personal best and qualified to run in the finals tomorrow at 3:35 p.m.Â

(M) 400-meter Dash Prelims:
Truman Hare broke the school record in the men's 400-meter dash, with a new provisional time of 46.42 and captured second place.
Logan Arellano secured sixth place with a new Div II provisional time of 47.42 – giving him the new fourth-fastest time in school history. Rounding it out for the 'Cats was
Danny Jantzen who crossed the line at 47.98 earning him 13th. Jantzen's time set a new personal best and the eighth-fastest time in school history. Both Hare and Arellano recorded new personal best times and will move on to the finals which are scheduled to start at 2:35 p.m. tomorrow.
(W) 400-meter Dash Prelims:
Melanie Roland secured first with a new provisional time of 54.09 – earning the fifth-fastest time in school history. Roland also set a new personal best. Just a little under a second behind was
Kennedi Cline with a Div. II provisional time of 54.58, securing second place.
Courtney Kiley set a new personal record with a time of 57.70, earning her ninth. Both Roland and Cline qualified for the finals and are set to run at 2:45 p.m. tomorrow.

(M) 600-yard Dash Prelims:
Josh Fraker put in the new third-fastest 600-yard time in the Northwest history, crossing the line with a qualifying mark of 1:10.82, placing third. Fellow freshman Breck Brown claimed sixth with a time of 1:12.09 along with junior Jess Cornick who placed eighth with a time of 1:12.44. All three runners, after putting in qualifying times, will run in the men's 600-yard dash tomorrow at 2:55 p.m.

Anjelena Carder continued her MIAA championship success by securing first place in the women's 600-yard dash with a time of 1:23.08 – setting the new fifth-fastest time in school history. Kendall Tietjen captured fifth place for the 'Cats with a time of 1:23.66 – giving her the new ninth-fastest time at Northwest. Both runners set new personal bests and qualified for the finals scheduled for tomorrow at 3:05 p.m.
(M) 800-meter Run Prelims:
Riley Witt claimed second place, clocking in at 1:52.56.
Bret Beard (1:52.63),
Christian Lanphier (1:53.05), and
Charlie Kinslow (1:53.05) all finished back-to-back, placing fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively. All four runners qualified for the finals and will run at 3:15 p.m. tomorrow.Â

(W) 800-meter Run Prelims:
Marie Dea finished with a time of 2:13.86 which allowed her to capture first overall in the prelims.
Lydia McGlocklin secured fourth place with a time of 2:14.15 along with
Jadyn Barnes with a time of 2:15.48, earning her sixth. Dea, McGlocklin, and Barnes all put in qualifying marks and will compete at 3:20 p.m. tomorrow.
(M) 5000-meter Run: Austin Goetsche set a new personal record time of 15:13.89 securing him 16th overall.

Olivia Bakker posted the new third-fastest mark in school history with a time of 17:30.54, allowing her to place nineth overall and picking up a new personal best.
(M) Distance Medley Relay: Northwest's men's team, featuring

Barnabe Gabillet claimed third place along with a Div. II provisional time of 9:54.22 – setting the 10th-fastest time in school history.

Dustin Wurtz took eighth place, setting a new personal best, and broke the record for longest weight throw in school history. Fellow freshman
