The Northwest Missouri State track and field team will travel to Pittsburg, Kan. for the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled to take place from Friday, Feb. 27 to Sunday, Mar. 1. The Championships will be hosted by Pittsburg State University in the Robert W. Plaster Center.
MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Meet Information:
The championships will open on Friday with the combined events, the pentathlon and heptathlon, scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively. Saturday's events will begin with a continuation of the combined events at 11:30 a.m., with the field and running events starting later in the day at 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, the final day of the meet, field events will start at 12:00 p.m., and running events will begin at 1:30 p.m.
In-person spectators can purchase single day tickets for adults at $10 and $5 for students/children (3-17). Three-day all session passes are available for $15.
Fans can watch the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships live on the MIAA Digital Network. For the first time in championships history, this year's broadcast will include specific event cameras to help provide enhanced coverage of the meet. Fans can purchase an individual camera for $10 or select a $15 weekend plan and gain access to all 12 web streams that will take place throughout the three-day meet.

2025 MIAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Bearcats claimed nine event titles at Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Mo. The Northwest men and women secured runner-up finishes with the men earning 119 points and the women earning 112 points. MIAA foe Pittsburg State captured the team championship on both the men's and women's sides.

2025-26 INDOOR SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
Northwest has enjoyed a successful 2025–26 indoor season, with the men ranked sixth nationally and second in the Central Region, while the women check in at No. 21 nationally and No. 3 in the Central Region.
Both teams rank No. 2 in the MIAA conference USTFCCCA TFRI rankings.
Northwest has collected 47 NCAA Division II provisional marks this season across six meets— 26 by the Bearcat men and 21 by the women.
At the recent Northwest Tune Up, Sophomore Campbell Barata broke the school record in the women's long jump, securing the event crown and earning a new NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
Northwest's 4x400-meter men's relay team, consisting of

Josh Fraker, and
Truman Hare took first place in the event, breaking the Hughes Fieldhouse record, setting the second-fastest time in school history, and earned the nineth fastest time in the nation so far this season.
Sophomore
Kennedi Cline continued her standout season by posting the seventh-fastest women's 200-meter in the nation so far this season and updating her place in the school record books to fifth.

David Parker II recorded the fourth-farthest men's triple jump in program history, earning a Division II provisional mark and first place in the event.
Northwest senior
Truman Hare secured the men's 400-meter dash event crown at the Steve Miller Invitational. Hare crossed the finish line with a Division II provisional time of 46.81, earning the seventh-fastest time in the nation so far this season and beat his own second-fastest time in school history. Hare also beat the Steve Miller Invitational meet record in the men's 400-meter dash.
