MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field squads closed out the regular season in a strong fashion at the Northwest Tune Up, claiming seven event titles while breaking school and facility records.
Sophomore
Campbell Barta broke the school record in the women's long jump, securing the event crown and earning a new NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
Northwest's 4x400-meter men's relay team, consisting of
Danny Jantzen,
Christian Lanphier,
Josh Fraker, and
Truman Hare took first place in the event, breaking the Hughes Fieldhouse record, setting the second-fastest time in school history, and earned the nineth fastest time in the nation so far this season.
In the women's 60-meter dash, sophomore
Krysta Abel captured the event title and tied for the third-fastest time in school history.
Sophomore
Kennedi Cline continued her standout season by posting the seventh-fastest women's 400-meter in the nation so far this season and updating her place in the school record books to fifth.

David Parker II recorded the fourth-farthest men's triple jump in program history, earning a Division II provisional mark and first place in the event.

Frank Sparks secured the event crown in the men's 60-meter hurdles while tying his second-fastest time in program history.
Running Events
(M) 60-meter Dash: Two Bearcats competed in the event, one qualified for finals. Freshman
Isaiah Bates placed second in the prelims with a with a new personal record time of 6.86 – earning him the ninth fastest time in school history.
Bates went on in the finals to finish fourth overall, recording a time of 6.91.
Running unattached, freshman
Kyle Emerson secured first place in the prelims and the finals with it times of 6.83 and 6.74. setting a new personal best. Had he been an attached runner Emerson would have tied for the second-fastest time in school history.
(W) 60-meter Dash: Four Bearcats competed in the event, with all four qualifying for the finals. Sophomore
Campbell Barta earned first place overall in the prelims with a Div. II provisional time of 7.59.
Jaurdin Mallory beat her own sixth fastest time in school history by recording a Div. II provisional time of 7.61 securing third. Following right behind Mallory was
Krysta Abel who place fourth with a time of 7.63. Rounding it out for the Cat's was
Hallie Henfling who crossed the line at 7.65 and placed fifth overall – giving her the nineth-fastest time in school history.
In the finals, Abel improved her qualifying time, placing first, claiming a Division II provisional time of 7.49 – tying for the third-fastest time in Northwest history. Barta, Mallory, and Henfling did not start in the finals
(M) 60-meter Hurdles: Three Bearcats competed in the event, with all three qualifing for finals. In the prelims, Sophomore
Frank Sparks secured first overall, crossing the line at 7.96. Following right behind Sparks was
Moses Koroma who finished with a time of 8.07. Senior
Vashon Riggins placed fifth with a time of 8.56.
In the finals, Sparks improved his qualifying time and claimed the title, earning a Division II provisional time of 7.85 – tying his own second-fastest time in Northwest history. Koroma set a new provisional time of 7.90 and placed second overall. Riggins placed sixth with a time of 8.73.
(W) 60-meter Hurdles: In the prelims, Sophomore
Ameilia Wempen placed seventh with a time of 9.95, qualifying for the finals.
In the finals Wempen placed seventh once again, improving her time to 9.90.
Running unattached, freshman
Josie McGraw secured first place in the prelims and the finals with it times of 8.93 and 8.97. Also running unattached, freshman
Addie Budig, placed sixth in the prelims with a time of 9.84. Budig then improved on her performance in the finals by placing fifth with a time of 9.66.
(M) 200m Dash:
Dominic Revels and
Xavier Horn placed fourth and fifth respectively with times of 22.33 and 22.35.
(M) 400-meter Dash: Unattached freshman
Dylan Masters finished eighth, clocking in a time of 50.23.
(W) 400-meter Dash: Sophomore
Kennedi Cline secured the title with a new provisional time of 54.20 – earning the fifth-fastest time in school history and the seventh-fastest time in the nation so far this season. Just a little over a second behind was
Melanie Roland with a Div. II provisional time of 54.77, securing second place. Rounding out the top three was
Anjelena Carder in third who crossed the line at 55.95, earning her a Division II provisional time and the ninth fastest time in school history. Both Cline and Carder earned new personal bests.
Courtney Kiley set a new personal record time of 57.97 and placed seventh overall.
Unattached freshman
Audrey Gibson placed eight overall with a time of 59.09.
(M) 800-meter Run: Senior
Jack Beard claimed third place, clocking in at 1:54.38.
Isaac Sorensen (1:54.38),
Andres Kemper (1:56.91), and
Jess Cornick (1:57.02) all finished back-to-back, placing fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively. Beard and Sorensen both set new personal bests.
Unattached runners
Breck Brown and Jack Willaims placed first and second respectively, with Brown earning a new personal best time of 1:53.13 and Williams earning a time of 1:53.32.
(M) 1-mile Run: Junior
Grayson Tapp earned second place, claiming a Division II provisional time of 4:07.41 – giving him the seventh-fastest time in Northwest history and a new personal best. Crossing the line at 4:19.30, senior
Barnabe Gabillet secured fourth overall. Rounding out the top three for the Cat's was sophomore
Levi Allen who placed seventh, clocking in at 4:22.90.
(W) 1-mile Run:
Taylor Rodgers and
Taylor McCreedy placed sixth and eighth respectively. Rodgers earned a new personal record time of 5:18.91 with McCreedy finishing with a time of 5:23.26.
(M) 4x400-meter Relay:
Danny Jantzen,
Christian Lanphier,
Josh Fraker, and
Truman Hare completed the 4x400m relay sweep with a first-place finish, crossing the line at 3:09.67, earning them a Division II provisional time, the second-fastest time in school history, and the nineth-fastest national time so far this season. The team also broke the 4x400m relay Hughes Fieldhouse record time.

Campbell Barta secured the title with a new Div. II provisional jump of 5.90m (19-04.25) – breaking the Northwest school record in women's long jump. Freshman
Abigail Troncin jumped 5.24m (17-02.25), earning her sixth overall.
(M) Triple Jump: Sophomore
David Parker II secured a first-place finish with a Div. II provisional jump of 14.73m (48-04.00), setting the fourth-farthest triple jump in school history and setting a new personal best. Freshman Christian Farrow also set a personal best, with a jump of 13.91m (45-07.75), earning him second place. Rounding out the top three was sophomore
Jonathan Hedrick who secured third with a leap of 13.52m (44-04.25).

Abigail Troncin took the event crown, leaping 11.22m (36-09.75) – earning the tenth longest long jump in school history.
