Northwest Missouri State University sophomore forward
Sadie Maas has earned the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week award.
Maas tied an MIAA single-game record with 11 blocks and registered a triple-double against Missouri Southern (17 points, 18 rebounds) in a 65-60 road win on Thursday. The 11 blocks set a Bearcat women's basketball single-game record. Maas is the fourth MIAA women's basketball player this season to record a triple-double. Nebraska-Kearney's Jillian Aschoff has two triple-doubles and Fort Hays State's Brooke Loewe has the other MIAA triple-double this year.
Maas's 11 blocked shots is tied for the second-highest single-game NCAA Div. II mark this season with Shaw's Mahogany Collins. Southwestern Oklahoma State's Landy Allen blocked 13 shots vs. Northwestern Oklahoma State on Feb. 12, 2026.
Maas added 12 points and nine rebounds in a 65-59 triumph over No. 20-ranked Pittsburg State Saturday to run Northwest's winning streak to five in a row.
Over the two games, Maas averaged 14.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 7.0 blocks. She shot 66.7% from the floor (12-of-18). She made all five of her free throw attempts.
The Bearcat women will play host to Northeastern State (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (Saturday, 1:30 p.m.) in Bearcat Arena.
