The Northwest Missouri State University baseball squad will journey to the state of Colorado this weekend for a four-game set against Colorado State-Pueblo.
The Bearcats (5-3 overall) will look to build off a 3-1 series victory against Arkansas-Monticello in Hot Springs, Ark. CSU-Pueblo began the season with a three-game sweep of Montana State-Billings. The Wolves added an 8-4 non-conference victory Tuesday over in-state foe Regis to move to 4-0 on the year.
Northwest has hit an MIAA-best 10 home runs, which ranks tied for No. 10 in the nation. Six different Bearcats have hit round-trippers through the first eight games.
Frank Gall leads the squad with three homers.

Frank Gall is off to a scalding start. Gall is hitting .406 with three home runs and 12 RBI. Galls had posted 13 hits and has scored nine runs. He also tops the squad in stolen bases (6). Gall is 8-for-11 (.727) when batting with two outs. Gall has registered a hit in all eight games this season. Gall is one of four Bearcats (Wilmer Jimenz,

Jeremiah Cabuyaban) to have reached base in all eight contests.
Senior
Jeremiah Cabuyaban ranks second on the squad in batting (.385). He leads the team in slugging percentage (.769) and in OPS (1.337). Cabuyaban has 10 hits, has scored nine runs and has six extra-base hits (4 doubles, 2 HRs). He has reached base in all eight games. He has three multi-hit contests. He is 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
Junior
Wilmer Jimenez is batting .276. Five of his eight hits have been for extra bases. Jimenez has two doubles, a triple and a home run. He ranks second on the team in RBI (9).
Junior
John Connors has drawn a team-high nine walks. Connors is batting .333 with six runs scored and four RBI. Connors has a .500 on-base percentage. He has three multi-hit games. Connors has reached base in all eight games. Connors is 5-for-10 when leading off an inning.
Junior
Jordi Ventura owns a .367 batting average and ranks second on the team in hits (11). He has scored six runs. Ventura leads the Bearcats with four multi-hit games.
Redshirt freshman
Michael Good is batting .500 with five hits in 10 at-bats. Good has driven in three runs and has a 1.045 OPS.
Sophomore
Jase Johnson is 2-0 in his two relief appearances. Johnson has tossed 9 2/3 innings with a 0.93 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP. Johnson has struck out 12 batters. He has allowed one walk, one run and six hits.
Senior starter
Landon Wells is 1-0 with a 5.63 ERA in eight innings pitched. Wells has struck out 10 and walked three.
Senior
Brock Steggall was credited with a save as he pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief work in the 3-2 win over SWOSU. Steggall whiffed three Bulldog batters and allowed three hits and no runs in the save. It was Steggall's fifth collegiate save for the Bearcats.
Northwest head coach
Tony Jandron led the Bearcats to a berth in the 2025 MIAA Baseball Tournament championship game while securing the most ever wins by a first-year coach in program history.
Jandron guided the Bearcats to a 27-25 mark in the 2025 season. Northwest went 19-17 in MIAA play and earned the No. 6 seed in the 2025 MIAA Tournament. In 2025, the Bearcats set the program record for home runs (57) in a single season.
The Bearcats were selected to finish ninth in the 2026 MIAA preseason coaches poll.
