Bearcats post 12 birdies in round one of Grace Shine Invite

EDMOND, Okla. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team is in seventh place out of 21 teams after day one of the Grace Shin Invitational.
 
The Bearcats managed 12 birdies from its five players in action at the Grace Shin Invite. Northwest shot a team score of 302 (+18) and is 11 shots out of first place. Lexi Bartley led with a team-best four birdies.
 
Lauren Briggs continued her fine play this fall with an opening round score of one-over par 71. Briggs recorded birdies at No. 4 and No. 17 to go along with 14 pars.
 
Clara Peake fired a three-over par score of 74 that featured three birdies at No. 4, No. 16 and No. 17.

Wildah Jarestam notched birdies at No. 14 and No. 17 as she scored a first-round tally of 77 (+6).
 
The 36-hole event is being played at the Golf Club of Edmond. It is playing to at a par-71 and measuring 5,922 yards. The final round is set for Tuesday.
