THIS WEEK'S ACTION
The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball squad (10-8 overall, 3-5 MIAA) will hit the road for a Wednesday tilt at Washburn and a Saturday matchup at Central Missouri.
    The Bearcats dropped a pair of home matchups this past weekend to Nebraska-Kearney and No. 6-ranked Fort Hays State.
    Washburn sits at 12-5 overall and 5-3 in the MIAA. The Ichabods have won two straight after a 65-61 double-overtime loss to Northwest in Bearcat Arena on Jan. 10. Washburn is 6-1 at home.
    Central Missouri is 12-5 overall and 6-2 in league play. UCM split action last weekend with a win over Newman and a setback on the road vs. Emporia State. The Jennies are 5-2 at home.

ALL-TIME VS THE ICHABODS
Washburn owns a 63-16 lead in the all-time series. Five of the last nine contests between Northwest and Washburn have gone to overtime.
    Head coach Austin Meyer is 6-9 vs. Washburn.

ALL-TIME VS THE JENNIES
Central Missouri holds a 77-29 lead in the all-time series. The Jennies recorded a 76-72 win over the Bearcats in Maryville Jan. 7.
    
LIMITING THE OPPOSITION
Northwest ranks No. 3 in the MIAA and No. 50 in the nation in scoring defense by allowing 58.8 points per game. Washburn leads the MIAA in scoring defense (57.1 ppg).
    Northwest has limited eight of its opponents to less than 60 points scored.

60+ = WINNING NUMBER
Northwest is 10-2 this season when scoring 60 or more points.
    The only two times this season Northwest has scored more than 60 and lost was at Fort Hays State and at home vs. Central Missouri.

MEYER IN OVERTIME
Head coach Austin Meyer is 8-3 in overtime games since taking over the program in 2018. Meyer and the Bearcats have won five consecutive overtime decisions.
    Northwest has overtime wins this season over Emporia State (77-70) and Washburn (65-61).
    Meyer is 2-0 all-time in double-overtime results.

HAUCK FINDS THE SHOOTING TOUCH
Sophomore Kirsten Hauck has buried 24 of her last 51 shots from three-point land over the last 12 games.
    In MIAA play, Hauck is making 42.9% of her three-pointers (15-of-35) which leads the league in conference games only.
    On the season, Hauck has knocked in 27 three-pointers and his averaging 8.3 points per contest.

PAINT ME A BIRMINGHAM FROM 3-POINT RANGE
Freshman Bailey Birmingham leads the MIAA in three-point field goal percentage (.378) and ranks No. 2 in three-point field goals made (42).
    She ranks No. 22 in the nation in three-pointers made and No. 43 in the country in three-point field goal percentage.
    Birmingham has made at least one three-pointers in 16 of the 17 games she has played. She has made two more three-pointers in 13 contests.
    She ranks No. 2 in the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game.

Sophomore Sadie Maas is Northwest's top shot blocker (37) and rebounder (7.6 rpg).
    Maas ranks No. 9 in the nation and No. 2 in the MIAA in blocked shots (37). She ranks seventh in the MIAA in total rebounds (137).
    Maas put up a career-high 13-rebound effort against Wayne State. Maas possesses seven career 10-plus rebound performances as a Bearcat, including five this season. Maas has garnered three consecutive double-figure rebound games with 12 vs. Missouri Western, 10 vs. Emporia State and 10 vs. Baker.
    Maas has collected 85 career blocked shots to rank tied for No. 8 on Northwest's all-time blocked shots list. Maas has blocked at least one shot in 39 different games as a collegiate player.

    Senior Ella Moody posted 10 points for her sixth career double-figure game against Fort Hays State.

Northwest produced three double-doubles in its first two MIAA games vs. Missouri Western and Emporia State.
    Sadie Maas produced back-to-back double-doubles with 12 points and 12 rebounds at Missouri Western and 14 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime win over Emporia State.
    Andrea Lopreato collected her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. Emporia State.

Head coach Austin Meyer recorded his 100th career coaching victory in Northwest's Nov. 22 win over Lincoln.
    Meyer is the third Bearcat women's coach to reach 100 or more victories joining Wayne Winstead (311) and Gene Steinmeyer (189). Meyer has posted 107 career wins entering Wednesday's game at Washburn.

Junior transfer Andrea Lopreato set the Bearcat single-game scoring record with 40 points against Sioux Falls at Civic Arena on Nov. 14.
    Lopreato became the first Bearcat women's basketball player to score 40 points in a game. It tied for the 14th-best single-game scoring mark in league history.
    She also set the single-game school records for free throws made (19) and attempted (21) in the game. Lopreato set the MIAA single-game record with 19 made free throws vs. Sioux Falls.
