Cline, Mohammed capture MIAA Track Athlete of the Week honors

Northwest Missouri State University's Kennedi Cline and Aziz Mohammed have been named the MIAA Track Athletes of the Week.

Cline landed the MIAA Female Track Athlete of the Week honor. Cline notched a pair of NCAA Div. II provisional marks at the 2026 Coach Alsup Invite held at the Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Mo. Cline placed second in the 200 meters with a provisional time of 24.36 (she missed out on first place by .01). Her time of 24.36 ranks as the No. 8 time in the nation. It ranks as the fourth-best time in Northwest school history. Cline was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that produced a time of 3:49.80, which ranks No. 13 in the nation. The quartet of Cline, Marie Dea, Jadyn Barnes and Kendall Tietjen took first place at the Alsup Invite.

Mohammed claimed the MIAA Male Track Athlete of the Week accolade. Mohammed became the first Bearcat to break the four-minute mark in the indoor mile as he set a school record with a time of 3:59.76. It ranks as the 17th-best all-time indoor mile mark in NCAA Div. II history. Mohammed's time of 3:59.76 ranks as the third-best time in the nation this season. Mohammed gained an NCAA provisional mark in the mile at the 2026 Coach Alsup Invite.

Cline and the Bearcat indoor track and field teams will travel to Pittsburg, Kan., to compete in the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational Friday. Mohammed will take to the track again Saturday at the WSC NCAA Showdown in Wayne, Neb.
