Bearcats Collect Seven Titles at Coach Richard Alsup Open

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field teams claim seven event titles and earn ten NCAA Division II provisional nods at the Coach Richard Alsup Open inside Hughes Fieldhouse.
 
In a record setting race, senior Aziz Mohammed broke the school record for fastest 1 mile run and claimed second. Alongside Mohammed was unattached runner Maxime Touron who smashed both the meet and Hughes Fieldhouse records to take first place.
 
Senior Dominic Sedlacek also shined, setting a new meet record in the men's 60-meter dash.
 
Seniors Kiki Witt and Lydia McGlocklin had standout first and second place finishes with both breaking into the top ten in the school record book in the women's 1 mile run.

Running Events
(M) 60-meter: Five Bearcats competed in the event, two qualified for finals. In the prelims, senior Dominic Sedlacek placed first, earning a Division II provisional time of 6.70. Freshman Isaiah Bates placed seventh with a time of 6.90.
 
In the finals, Sedlacek took first overall with a time of 6.71, breaking the Coach Alsup 60-meter run meet record. Bates placed seventh with a time of 6.94.
 
Unattached freshman Kyle Emerson finished fifth in the prelims with a time of 6.84 and then finished sixth in the finals with a time of 6.92.
 
(W) 60-meter Dash: Three Bearcats competed in the event, with all three qualifying for finals. Sophomore Krysta Abel took first with a time of 7.64, followed up by Jaurdin Mallory who placed third with a time of 7.72. Junior Hallie Henfling finished with a time of 7.78, earning her sixth place.
 
In the finals, Abel improved her qualifying time, placing first, and claiming a Division II provisional time of 7.55 – tying her for fourth-fastest time in school history. Abel also set a new personal best. Next up was Mallory in third place at 7.74. Finishing it out for the Cats' was Henfling in sixth place at 7.78. 
 
(W) 60-meter Hurdles: Unattached freshman Josie McGraw finished in the prelims with a time of 8.95 and finished with a time 8.89 in the finals, earning second in both races. 

(W) 200-meter Dash: Sophomore Kennedi Cline secured second with a Division II provisional time of 25.36 – beating her own fourth-best school record. Krysta Abel took fifth place with a Division II provisional time of 25.45. Both Cline and Abel set new personal bests.

(M) 400-meter Dash: Junior Danny Jantzen placed second overall with a time of 49.02.
 
(W) 400-meter Dash: Sophomore Courtney Kiley finished with a time of 1:00.08 taking fourth.

(M) 600-yard Run: Logan Arellano claimed first for the Cats', clocking in at 1:11. Aiden O'Leary finished in seventh with a time of 1:15. 

(M) 800-meter Run: Senior Bret Beard took first with a Division II provisional time of 1:51.95 – giving him the eighth-fastest time in Northwest history. Following close behind was Riley Witt with a time of 1:52.14, giving him second place. Both Beard and Witt set new personal bests. Rounding out the top three was Christian Lanphier with a time of 1:52.30. Charlie Kinslow finished in fifth place with a time of 1:54.20.
 
(M) 1 Mile Run: Senior Aziz Mohammed put in a Division II provisional time of 3:59.76, earning him second and breaking the school record for fastest 1 mile run. Mohammed set his new personal best. Up next for the Cats' was senior Riley Witt who finished fourth, setting a Division II provisional time of 4:06.14 – giving him the eighth-fastest time in Northwest history. In fifth, Grayson Tapp crossed the finish line with a time of 4:12.35
 
Unattached senior Maxime Touron took the first crown, finishing with a time of 3:59.76, breaking both the Coach Alsup 1 mile run meet record and the Hughes Field House facility record. Unattached freshman Jack Williams finished with a time of 4:16.62, earning sixth.
 
(W) 1 Mile Run: Senior Kiki Witt secured first with a Division II provisional time of 4:54.32 – giving her the third-fastest time in Northwest history. Following close behind was Lydia McGlocklin who finished second with a time of 4:55.93 giving her the fifth-fastest time in Northwest history. Finishing it out for the Cats' was Whitney Post, finishing with a time of 5:05.03, earning her fourth place.

(M) 3,000-meter Run: Senior Tyler Blay earned second place, claiming a time of 8:19.34.
 
Unattached sophomore John Langill finished with a time of 8:31.64, giving him third place.
 
(W) 3,000-meter Run: Junior Shelby Harris finished with a time of 10:25,52, earning second place.

(M) 4x400-meter Relay: Northwest's first 4x400M relay team consisting of Danny Jantzen, Logan Arellano, Xavier Horn, Christian Lanphier claimed first place with a Division II provisional time of 3:15.48.
 
Northwest's second 4x400M relay team consisting of Aiden O'Leary, Jess Cornick, Jack Beard, Bret Beard placed third with a time of 3:22.53.

The unattached 4x400M relay team with Joe Brown, Charlie Warren, Dylan Masters, Kyle Emerson finished with a time of 3:30.30, taking third. 

(W) 4x400-meter Relay: Kennedi Cline, Marie Dea, Jayden Barnes, and Kendall Tietjen completed the 4x400M relay sweep with a first-place finish, crossing the line at 3:49.80, earning them a Division II provisional time.
 
Field Events
(M) High Jump: Junior Jeremiah Rainey-Dunlap placed 5th with a jump of 1.93m (6-04.00).

(W) Long Jump: Campbell Barta took second and earned her second total Division II provisional nod with a jump of 5.86m (19-02.75). Sophomore Anjelena Carder took seventh place, leaping 5.39m (17-08.25).

(M) Shot Put: Sophomore Demarii Williams placed fourth with a throw of 16.41m (53-10.25). 
 
Unattached freshman Ethan Gaschler (15.77 meters) and Dustin Wurtz (15.33 meters) placed fifth, and sixth respectively.

(W) Shot Put: Freshman Jordyn Matiyow secured seventh overall with a throw of 12.43M (40-09.50).
