THIS WEEK'S ACTION
The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball squad (10-6 overall, 3-3 MIAA) will take on the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.) and No. 6-ranked Fort Hays State (Saturday, 1:30 p.m.) in Bearcat Arena.
    Northwest is coming off a 65-61 double-overtime victory over Washburn.
    UNK is 9-8 overall and 2-4 in MIAA play. The Lopers have lost two straight games and are also 0-5 on the road this season.
    FHSU is 14-1 overall and 5-1 in MIAA action. The Tigers have won seven consecutive games entering this week's slate at Missouri Western (Thursday) and Northwest (Saturday).

ALL-TIME VS NEB.-KEARNEY
Nebraska-Kearney owns a 19-8 lead in the all-time series.
    UNK recorded a 71-49 triumph over Northwest on Jan. 3 in Kearney, Neb.

ALL-TIME VS FORT HAYS STATE
Fort Hays State holds a 27-11 edge in the all-time series. FHSU has won 15 of the last 16 matchups with Northwest.
    The Tigers managed an 84-71 victory over the Bearcats in Hays, Kan., on New Year's Day. FHSU overcame a 20-point second-quarter deficit to achieve the win.

MIAA'S NO. 3-RANKED FIELD GOAL DEFENSE
Northwest ranks No. 3 in the MIAA and No. 48 in the nation in defensive field goal percentage (36.1%).
    
LIMITING THE OPPOSITION
Northwest ranks No. 3 in the MIAA and No. 48 in the nation in scoring defense by allowing 58.3 points per game.
    Northwest has limited eight of its opponents to less than 60 points scored.

60+ = WINNING NUMBER
Northwest is 10-2 this season when scoring 60 or more points.
    The only two times this season Northwest has scored more than 60 and lost was at Fort Hays State and at home vs. Central Missouri.

MEYER IN OVERTIME
Head coach Austin Meyer is 8-3 in overtime games since taking over the program in 2018. Meyer and the Bearcats have won five consecutive overtime decisions.
    Northwest has overtime wins this season over Emporia State (77-70) and Washburn (65-61).
    Meyer is 2-0 all-time in double-overtime results.

REBOUNDING MARGIN
Northwest ranks No. 4 in the MIAA in rebound margin (+5.8). Northwest put up a +30 rebound margin (62-32) in its 73-36 win over Baker.
    Northwest's 62 rebounds ranks as the fourth-highest single-game MIAA total this year.

LOPREATO TOPS SQUAD IN SCORING
Junior Andrea Lopreato leads the Bearcats in scoring and ranks No. 8 in the MIAA at 14.3 points per game.
    Lopreato dropped a Bearcat single-game scoring record of 40 points in a 75-64 win over Sioux Falls (Nov. 14) at Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo.
    Lopreato tops the squad in steals (27) and free throws made (64). Lopreato was credited with a career-high six steals in Northwest's 90-63 win over Buena Vista.

PAINT ME A BIRMINGHAM FROM 3-POINT RANGE
Freshman Bailey Birmingham leads the MIAA in three-point field goal percentage (.390) and in three-point field goals made (39).
    She ranks No. 14 in the nation in three-pointers made and No. 30 in the country in three-point field goal percentage.
    Birmingham has made at least one three-pointers in 14 of the 15 games she has played. She has made two more three-pointers in 12 contests.
    She ranks No. 2 in the team in scoring at 10.9 points per game.

MAAS SWATS SHOTS, GRABS BOARDS
Sophomore Sadie Maas is Northwest's top shot blocker (32) and rebounder (7.9 rpg).
    Maas ranks No. 12 in the nation and No. 2 in the MIAA in blocked shots (32). She ranks third in the MIAA in total rebounds (126).
    Maas put up a career-high 13-rebound effort against Wayne State. Maas possesses seven career 10-plus rebound performances as a Bearcat, including five this season. Maas has garnered three consecutive double-figure rebound games with 12 vs. Missouri Western, 10 vs. Emporia State and 10 vs. Baker.
    Maas has collected 80 career blocked shots to rank No. 10 on Northwest's all-time blocked shots list. Maas has blocked at least one shot in 37 games as a collegiate player.

HAUCK FINDS THE SHOOTING TOUCH
Sophomore Kirsten Hauck has buried 22 of her last 46 shots from three-point land over the last 10 games.
    In MIAA play, Hauck is making 43.3% of her three-pointers (13-of-30) which leads the league in conference games only.
    On the season, Hauck has knocked in 25 three-pointers and his averaging 8.5 points per contest.

DOUBLE-DOUBLES COMING IN BUNCHES
Northwest produced three double-doubles in its first two MIAA games vs. Missouri Western and Emporia State.
    Sadie Maas produced back-to-back double-doubles with 12 points and 12 rebounds at Missouri Western and 14 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime win over Emporia State.
    Andrea Lopreato collected her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. Emporia State.

SCORERS OF NOTE
Junior Andrea Lopreato posted 12 points against Washburn for her 12th double-figure scoring game this season.
    Senior Ella Moody notched a season-high 13 points off the bench against Central Missouri. She added 11 points in a double-overtime win over Washburn. She has five double-figure scoring games in her collegiate career.
    Sophomore Kirsten Hauck tallied 15 points in 65-61 double-overtime win vs. Washburn for her sixth career double-figure scoring contest.
    Freshman Bailey Birmingham put up 10 points in the 65-61 win vs. Washburn for her ninth double-figure scoring game this season.

100 WINS FOR MEYER
Head coach Austin Meyer recorded his 100th career coaching victory in Northwest's Nov. 22 win over Lincoln.
    Meyer is the third Bearcat women's coach to reach 100 or more victories joining Wayne Winstead (311) and Gene Steinmeyer (189). Meyer has posted 107 career wins entering Thursday's game against Nebraska-Kearney.

DRE-LO DROPS 40, SCHOOL RECORD VS. SIOUX FALLS
Junior transfer Andrea Lopreato set the Bearcat single-game scoring record with 40 points against Sioux Falls at Civic Arena on Nov. 14.
    Lopreato became the first Bearcat women's basketball player to score 40 points in a game. It tied for the 14th-best single-game scoring mark in league history.
    Lopreato is one of six NCAA Div. II players to put up a 40-point scoring game this season.
    She also set the single-game school records for free throws made (19) and attempted (21) in the game. Lopreato set the MIAA single-game record with 19 made free throws vs. Sioux Falls.
