ASHLAND, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State cross country teams got their seasons started at the Platte River Rumble "Gold" meet at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park. 
 
The Bearcat men tallied 52 points to claim second, with the Northwest women totaling 229, placing eighth. 
 
Bearcat Men's 6K
In the men's 6K Northwest secured second place with five runners finishing in the top 25. Senior Drew Atkins set a new personal record at 17:59.80, leading the team with a third-place finish. Aziz Mohammed (18:01.82), Tyler Blay(18:06.26), Grayson Tapp (18:26.79), John Langill (18:29.47) finished fourth, seventh, 18th and 22nd, respectively.

In the women's 5K run, Northwest's top two finishers set personal bests with Mayson Hartley clocking in a time of 18:20.34, placing 27th, and Jessa Cassity clocking a time of 19:05.69, placing 52nd.
