BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team put the finishing touches on a fourth-place team finish Wednesday at the Central Region Fall Preview held at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
 
Northwest fired a team score of 301 – one shot better than Tuesday's opening round of 302. The 301 round is tied for the ninth-best team score in program history. The 36-hole total of 603 ranks as the third-best team score in a 36-hole event in school history.
 
Sophomore Lauren Briggs led the charge with a final round that included five birdies. Briggs was tied for the tournament lead with three holes to play before settling into third place in the final standings. Briggs gained birdies at No. 3, No. 6, No. 11, No. 12 and No. 14. Briggs totaled eight birdies in the 36-hole event for a two-round score of 144. Briggs's two-round score of 144 tied for the fourth-best 36-hole individual score in program history. Briggs secured eight total birdies in the two rounds to tie for the second-best total in the field.
 
Junior Clara Peake burst out with four birdies in her first seven holes and kept her round at four-under through 11 holes. Peake gave back four shots on the backside but found a way to birdie the 15th hole to post her first under-par round as a Bearcat. Peake garnered a final-round score of 71, which earned her a top-10 tournament finish with a 36-hole score of 148 (+4). Peake's round of 71 is tied for the ninth-best single round in school history. Peake tallied the second-best score on the par-four holes in the field with a stroke average of 3.90.
 
Sophomore Lexi Bartley gained a top-25 finish with a second-round score of 77. Bartley posted a birdie at No. 15 on Wednesday. Bartley registered a team-best 25 pars in the tournament.
 
Sophomore Carleigh Reoh recorded a birdie at No. 8 and fired a nine-over round of 81.
 
Northwest will be back in action Sept. 15-16 at the Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl eld at Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wis.
