Rosewell to be inducted into Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

Northwest Missouri State University head tennis coach Mark Rosewell has gained one of the highest accolades one can attain in the state of Missouri by being named to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Rosewell's announcement came Thursday at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. The 2025 Missouri Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony is set for Sun., Nov. 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the InterContinental.

Rosewell is 29-time MIAA coach of the year and a 30-time MIAA regular season champion. Rosewell is the all-time winningest coach in any sport in Bearcat history with 1,267 victories. Rosewell is 1,267-604 as a combined men's/women's tennis coach. Seven times he has been honored at the ITA Regional Coach of the Year. The Bearcats have made 45 NCAA Tournament appearances (23 men/22 women) under his leadership.

Rosewell has won the men's and women's MIAA championships in the same year seven times - the most of any MIAA coach. The most recent occurrence was 2023. Rosewell also accomplished the feat in 1987, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2010.

He spent two seasons as the head coach at his alma mater Central Missouri, before taking over at Northwest. Rosewell has a career coaching record of 1,289-631. Rosewell, a native of Lexington, Mo., earned both his bachelor's degree in physical education and master's degree in industrial safety engineering from Central Missouri.
