A pair of connections to the Northwest Missouri State University track and field program put up tremendous performances Thursday on day one of the 2025 USA Track & Field Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Ore.
Bearcat throws coach
Tanner Berg tallied a fourth-place finish with a personal-best mark 76.93m (252'4") in the men's hammer throw. Berg's finish along with an accompanying throw of a world-qualifying mark would advance him to the World Championships.

Grant Bradley gained a 19th-place finish in the first round of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:32.16.
