Northwest Missouri State University outfielder Ashton Neuman has been honored with a spot on the 2025 ABCA NCAA Div. II Central Region All-Defensive team.
The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Neuman (Bunnell, Fla./Flagler Palm Coast HS/Benedictine) held a .993 fielding percentage in the outfield with 130 putouts and eight assists with one error in 139 total chances. Neuman tallied third-team All-MIAA honors in his lone season with the Bearcats and was also selected to the MIAA Gold Glove team.
Neuman set a new single season school record with 60 walks and tied for the nation's lead in that category. Neuman belted a team-high 12 home runs—tying for the 10th-most in a single season in program history. He drove in 53 runs in 181 at-bats with a .298 average and a .558 slugging percentage. Neuman scored a team-best 61 runs - tying the single-season Northwest record. Neuman tallied 15 multi-RBI games, including four games of four-RBI performances. He recorded 11 multi-hit outings. One of two Bearcats to start all 52 games, Neuman also contributed on the mound, making seven starts and eight appearances with a 1-3 record and 14 strikeouts across 26 2/3 innings.
The Chair of the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee is Rudy Garbalosa of Lynn University. The committee also includes Jim Gantt (Catawba College), Rick Giannetti (Dominican College), Dave Hajek (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs), Ryan Kelley (Wayne State University), Alex Koch (Wayne State College) and Marc Marizzaldi (Seton Hill University) and Tony Schifano (San Francisco State University).
Players selected to the ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams were eligible for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors. The 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in all divisions were announced Wednesday, June 18.
