Bearcats set to close regular season at Concordia and Loper Twilight meets

The Northwest Missouri State outdoor track and field teams will close out its regular season with two final meets before the national meet, beginning with the Concordia Twilight on Friday, May 9, in Concordia, Neb. The Bearcats will then head to Kearney, Neb., to compete in the Loper Twilight on Saturday. 
 
CONCORDIA TWILIGHT
At the Concordia Twilight on Friday, field events will kick off with throws at Noon, followed by jumps at 2 p.m. Running events are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

LOPER TWILIGHT
On Saturday at the Loper Twilight, throws will start at 2 p.m., with jumps beginning at 3 p.m. Track events are set to begin at approximately 5 p.m., starting with the women's 4x100-meter relay.
 
PREVIOUSLY ON THE TRACK
The Bearcats earned four titles at the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships, with three of those coming on Championship Sunday in Emporia, Kan.

Grant Bradley captured his second championship of the weekend with a MIAA record in the 5000-meter run, while Tiffany Hughey claimed MIAA titles in both the 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay on Sunday. 

Bradley earned the second-most points from track events on the men's side, totaling 20 points—tied for third-most overall.

The Bearcat women's team finished in third accumulating 108 points, while the men's squad placed sixth with 65 points.

Both Bearcat men's and women's track and field teams are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA TFRI Top 25, with the men holding the No. 15 spot and the women coming in at No. 25.

BEARCAT MEN RANK NO. 7 IN USTFCCCA PROGRAM OF THE YEAR AWARD STANDINGS
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its mid-year Program of the Year Award update, ranking the Northwest Missouri State men's cross country and indoor track and field teams at No. 7.

The Bearcats have accumulated 15 POY points, placing 10th in cross country and 5th in indoor track and field. Northwest is one of only three MIAA programs ranked among the top 16 in Division II, joining Pittsburg State and Washburn.
