Bradley claims 3000m Steeplechase title at MIAA Outdoor Championships

EMPORIA, Kan. – Senior Grant Bradley secured the first individual title for the Northwest Missouri State University track and field team in the men's 3000m Steeplechase at the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday.

Additionally, the Bearcats advanced 15 athletes across nine events to Championship Sunday.  

FIELD EVENTS
  • (W) Discus: Kelsey Fields produced a best throw of 36.80m (120-09) to claim 20th, as Allie Poage threw 36.69m (120-04) to place 21st. 
  • (M) Long Jump: Wyatt Garner placed 17th with a leap of 6.55m (21-06). 
  • (W) Long Jump: Campbell Barta secured a fifth-place medal with a jump of 5.85m (19-02.50). Kyah Luhring finished in eighth at 5.54m (18-02.25), while Grace Hill came in 13th with a jump of 5.36m (17-07). 
RUNNING EVENTS
  • (M) 100m: Dominic Sedlacek advanced to tomorrow's finals with a qualifying time of 10.44 – sixth-fastest among the finals' field. 
  • (W) 100m: Jaurdin Mallory (11.61) and Campbell Barta (11.78) each made Championship Sunday's finals. Mallory sits in fourth, as Barta holds down the eight spot. Kyah Luhring placed 11th with a time of 11.91, directly followed by Krysta Abel in 12th at 12.00. Hallie Henfling came in at 12.20 to place 14th.
  • (W) 100m Hurdles: Grace Hill captured the fields' fifth-fastest qualifying time of 14.28 – placed third in prelims. Hannah Hatzenbuehler narrowly missed finals with a time of 14.68 to place sixth. Millie Wempen put up a time of 17.17 to place 13th.
  • (M) 110m Hurdles: Moses Koroma qualified for tomorrow's finals heat with a time of 14.04 – a new season-best time that sits behind Tyler Shaw's school record mark of 14.03 (2009). Vashon Riggins placed ninth with a time of 15.47. 
  • (M) 200m: Zac Anderson (22.19) and Juan Hernandez (22.44) finished consecutively in the 14th and 15thplaces. 
  • (W) 200m: Krysta Abel placed 11th in the event, coming in at 25.63. 
  • (M) 400m: Keith Griffin III sits in third for tomorrow's finals, coming in at 47.71. Gavyn Monday was edged in prelims, putting up a time of 48.29 to place ninth. Christian Lanphier (49.17) and Logan Arellano (49.30) finished back-to-back in the 12th and 13th places. Juan Hernandez came in 19th with a time of 50.13, respectively. 
  • (W) 400m: The Bearcat trio of Tiffany Hughey, Chloe Saenz, and Melanie Roland claimed three of the top five qualifying times in the preliminary round today. Hughey clocked in at the fields' fastest time of 53.57, while Chloe Saenz sits behind at 54.31. Melanie Roland rounded off the fourth-best time at 54.55. 
  • (W) 400m Hurdles: Jaedy Commins placed second in Heat 2 but sits in third (second-quickest overall time), ahead of tomorrow's finals. Anjelena Carder sits fifth with a time of 1:02.16. 
  • (M) 800m: Riley Witt looks to claim a title in the event, sitting second with a qualifying time of 1:52.23. Charlie Kinslow (1:53.78) and Bentley St. John (1:54.11) held down the 11th and 13th places, as Bret Beard (1:54.55) took 15th. 
  • (W) 800m: In a tight race set for tomorrow, Lydia McGlocklin produced the third-best mark today at 2:11.22 – also a new Division II qualifying time. McGlocklin is joined by Jadyn Barnes (2:12.09), Marie Dea (2:13.47), and Federica Lega (2:14.51) for a chance at a title on Championship Sunday. 
  • (M) 3000m Steeplechase: Grant Bradley tallied Northwest's first MIAA crown with a time of 8:55.92. Bradley has a personal-best, and school record, time of 8:32.43, set on April 16 of this year. Barnabe Gabillet crossed at a new Division II qualifying time of 9:04.64 to secure fourth place – time that ranks No. 26. Grayson Tapp finished in 13th, at a time of 9:35.75. 
  • (W) 3000m Steeplechase: Whitney Post provided a fourth-place finish in the event, clocking in at a time of 11:12.83 to lead the quartet of Bearcats competing. Mayson Hartley crossed the line at 11:16.05 to claim sixth, while Ava Gehlen placed eighth at 11:49.40. Marissa Roberts finished in 12:09.28 to place 11th.
  • (M) 10000m: Tyler Blay placed ninth overall with a time of 30:37.17. John Langill (31:58.99) and Austin Goetsche (32:05.14) placed 20th and 21st, respectively. 
  • (W) 10000m: Shelby Harris claimed 14th place, crossing the line at 39:04.06.
