The Northwest Missouri State University outdoor track and field teams will send 23 student-athletes out west to compete at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colo.
The meet begins Thursday with multi-events at 10:30 a.m., followed by field events at 12:30 p.m. and track events at 4:40 p.m. On Friday, multi-events resume in the morning, with field events scheduled for 2 p.m. and track events at 5:30 p.m. Championship Saturday features field events starting at 11 a.m., and the final round of track events beginning at 5:10 p.m.

The Bearcat track and field team is led by seventh-year head coachÂ
Brandon Masters. Masters has helped crown 179 track and field all-Americans since taking over the Northwest program in 2018. His list of All-Americans include 95 men (63 indoors, 32 outdoors) and 84 women (55 indoors, 29 outdoors) and. Masters has coached six individuals and three relays to NCAA national championships in his time in Maryville.

For each individual event contested, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted, and for the heptathlon and decathlon the top 16 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.Â

The Bearcats will be represented by 10 men and eight women at the national meet. An additional five athletes will travel with the team as relay alternates.Â

BEARCAT MEN RANK NO. 7 IN USTFCCCA PROGRAM OF THE YEAR AWARD STANDINGS
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its mid-year Program of the Year Award update, ranking the Northwest Missouri State men's cross country and indoor track and field teams at No. 7.
The Bearcats have accumulated 15 POY points, placing 10th in cross country and 5th in indoor track and field. Northwest is one of only three MIAA programs ranked among the top 16 in Division II, joining Pittsburg State and Washburn.

2024 NCAA OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP:Â
The Northwest women scored 22 team points to place 11th, as the Bearcat men piled up 17.5 points in 15th, as 21 student-athletes garnered All-America status.Â
Tiffany Hughey was crowned national champion in the 400-meter dash, running the 12th-best time on the Division II all-time performance list at 52.02. The 4x400-meter relay team of
