INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Northwest Missouri State University outdoor track and field teams turned in several standout performances on the opening day of the Kip Janvrin Open, highlighted by a string of season-best marks.
KIP JANVRIN OPEN
- (W) 1500m: Jessa Cassity and Shelby Harris came in at 38th and 39th in the field of 90 total participants. Cassity came in at 5:00.57, while Harris clocked in at 5:01.28 in Heat 3.
- Running unattached, Alyna Thibault set a new meet record with a 4:32.25 clocking – set the record by .71 held since 2011.
- (M) 1500m: Levi Allen ran 4:00.77 to place 19th, while Andres Kemper placed 29th with a time of 4:04.36.
- (W) 3000m Steeplechase: Ava Gehlen put up a season-best time of 11:48.99 to claim ninth. Marissa Roberts also showed a season-best mark of 12:15.25 to place 14th.
- (M) 5000m: A trio of Bearcats competed in the event with John Langill leading the pack with a 21st place finish at 15:11.45. Nick Kilonzo placed 30th with a time of 15:23.36, while Austin Goetsche came in at 15:29.24 to place 39th.
- (W) 5000m: Amanda Seggerman placed 25th with a time of 18:33.76.
