Golfers climb in regional, national rankings

The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team moved up three spots to No. 11 in the Central Region in this week's National Collegiate Golf Rankings presented by clippd.

The Bearcats climbed eight slots in the national rankings to No. 71. Northwest has compiled a season mark of 78-65 with an adjusted scoring average of 314.2 through 11 tournaments.

Senior Paige Hoffman is ranked No. 20 in the region and No. 205 in the nation. Hoffman has competed in 24 rounds of play this year with a 76.96 stroke average. She has tallied six top-10 finishes, including one first-place finish. In her career, Hoffman has registered 23 top-10 finishes with a stroke average of 76.21 in 81 NCAA Div. II collegiate golf rounds.

Senior Madilyne Schlaepfer is ranked No. 33 in the Central Region and at No. 263 in the country. Schlaepfer has a 78.25 stroke average this season in 24 rounds. She has gained two top-10 finishes and one first-place effort in the 2024-25 season. Schlaepfer has a career stroke average of 77.85 in 48 NCAA Div. II collegiate tournaments.

Freshman Lexi Bartley is ranked No. 74 in the Central Region and No. 451 in the country. Bartley has also played in all 11 tournaments and scored in 24 rounds. Bartley has a 79.08 stroke average with a season-low round of 72 in the first round of the SWMSU Mustang Invite on Sept. 28. Bartley produced her best finish of the season at the Midwest Intercollegiate held at Mules National Golf Club. Bartley tied for 11th with a two-round total of 163 at the Midwest Invite. Bartley also tied for No. 11 at the 2025 MIAA Championships with scores of 80-79-75 (234). Bartley has tallied 12 sub-80 rounds this year.
 
Freshman Lauren Briggs is rated No. 75 in the region and No. 453 in the nation. Briggs has played in all 11 events and taken part in 24 rounds with a 79.46 stroke average. She posted a season-low round of 73 in the second round of the SWMSU Mustang Invite on Sept. 29. Briggs registered her first top-five finish with a tie for fourth at the Midwest Intercollegiate held in Warrensburg, Mo., with a two-round score of 158. Briggs secured a top-20 finish at the MIAA Championships with rounds of 81-77-79. Briggs has posted 14 sub-80 rounds this season.

Junior Kayla Moline is ranked No. 170 in the Central Region. Moline has played 24 rounds this season with a stroke average of 84.90. Moline has tallied four sub-80 rounds this year.

Northwest will await the NCAA's announcement for regional qualifiers on April 28. The top 18 teams in the Central Region will receive a bid to compete in the NCAA Regional set for May 5-7 at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, Okla. Northwest has never competed in the NCAA Regional tournament in program history.
