The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team surged into the national team rankings at No. 45 as both genders still have four individuals ranked in singles play by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
 
For the first time this season the Bearcat men's tennis team gained an ITA team ranking at No. 45. The Bearcats are sitting at 8-6 overall and 4-1 in GAC/MIAA dual matches. The Bearcat men have won five of their last six dual matches, including a 5-2 victory over No. 36-ranked Nebraska-Kearney on March 29. Northwest is 1-2 against ranked opponents this season with losses against No. 5 UT Tyler and No. 9 Midwestern State.
 
Dominik Wijntjes climbed to a season-high ranking of No. 21 in singles. Wijntjes has won six straight dual matches and has gone 12-2 in dual play this spring. He is 6-2 at No. 1 singles and 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Wijntjes is 14-3 overall this season. Wijntjes has not lost a GAC/MIAA dual as he sits at 5-0 in league singles play.
 
Antonin Leborne dropped seven slots in the national singles rankings to No. 75. Leborne is 11-4 overall and 11-2 in dual singles matches. Leborne is 5-1 at No. 4 singles and 5-0 at No. 5 singles. Leborne is 4-1 in GAC/MIAA dual action.
 
On the women's side, Alva Norberg has risen to No. 43 in singles. Marielena Muench sits at no. 71 in the latest national singles rankings.
 
Norberg picked up a three-set win last week over then No. 12-ranked Narindra Ravalvo (Nebraska-Kearney). Norberg is 11-5 overall in singles play and leads the Bearcats in singles victories this season. She is 9-4 in dual matches.
 
Muench has tallied 10 singles victories on the year. Muench is 7-5 at No. 1 singles this spring.

The Bearcat women are 6-7 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA this season.
