Both of the Northwest Missouri State University tennis teams are ranked No. 49 in the nation in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings.

The Northwest women are 9-7 overall and 4-1 in MIAA dual play. The Bearcat men are 11-7 overall and 6-1 in GAC/MIAA dual play (3-0 vs. MIAA North opponents).

Bearcat women's players Alva Norberg and Marielena Muench continue to be ranked nationally in singles play. Norberg is ranked No. 46 and Muench is No. 61 in the women's singles national rankings.

Norberg is 14-5 overall and 12-4 in dual singles play. Norberg has won four consecutive singles matches. Norberg is 1-0 against nationally-ranked opponents this spring with a three-set win over No. 18-ranked Narindra Ranaivo (Nebraska-Kearney) on March 29.

Muench is 10-9 overall and 7-8 at No. 1 singles this spring. Muench owns a win over No. 43-ranked Paula Balleseros (Southwest Baptist) on March 11.

Dominik Wijntjes is ranked No. 21 in singles in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association men's national rankings. Wijntjes sports Northwest's top mark in singles play at 17-4 overall. He is 15-3 in dual action this spring. He has won nine of his last 10 singles matches. Wijntjes is 5-1 against nationally-ranked opponents. He is 6-1 against GAC/MIAA foes.

Antonin Leborne made his way back into the ITA men's singles rankings at No. 75. Leborne is 15-4 overall and 15-2 in dual matches. Leborne has been victorious in 11 of his last 12 matches, including victories in five straight, heading into this week's slate vs. Emporia State and Washburn. Leborne is 1-0 against nationally-ranked opponents.
