DURANT, Okla. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team pulled out a dual victory with four three-set triumphs against the No. 27-ranked Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm.

The Savage Storm picked up a 1-0 lead by gaining wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles match was stopped with it tied 5-5.

The Bearcats then dug in for singles play and went the distance in four three-set matches to improve to 4-4 on the year. Southeastern fell to 6-3 overall.

Anne Carvalho Pereira notched the first three-set win at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 win over Larissa Giraldi Correa. Pereira won her third straight singles dual match.

Marielena Muench continued the winning trend with a 1-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory over Carol Mora Camacho at No. 1 singles. Muench has won three matches in a row and sits at 4-3 this spring.

Camilla Franzin pulled the Bearcats even in the dual with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 triumph at No. 5 singles over Jou Chen Chen.

Miru Nonaka went the distance at No. 6 singles to procure a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win over Sara Gonzalez.

The Northwest women will be in action again March 21 at 1 p.m. in their home opener against Arkansas Fort Smith in MIAA dual action.
