Northwest Missouri State (1-3) is back on the road this weekend for a four-game series against Christian Brothers (3-0) at Nadicksbernd Field in Memphis, Tenn.  
 
The Bearcats and Buccaneers open play Friday at 1 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The series concludes Sunday with a noon first pitch.
 
Last season, Northwest and CBU battled to a series split to open the 2024 season. The Bearcats took game two, 9-3, and game three, 15-4 (7 inn.).

All eight games in previous history have been played on the Buccaneers' home field, with an even all-time series at 4-4. 
 
ABOUT THE BUCS
CBU wrapped up the 2024 season with a 15-30 overall record, including a 7-23 mark in conference play. The Bucs kicked off their 2025 campaign by hosting former MIAA member Lincoln (Mo.), securing a three-game sweep over the Tigers. Sophomore infielder Jalen Smith powered the offense with two home runs and a team-leading eight RBIs in the opening series.  
 
SO FAR THIS SEASON
Northwest dropped three of four games against Regis last weekend, hitting .214 as a team with 25 total hits, five doubles, and 17 walks, as well as nine hit-by-pitches.  

Senior Dylan Hufft leads Northwest at the plate, batting .353 with six hits and a pair of doubles. 

Senior Kaehukai Young has driven in a team-high five RBIs, including a home run, while Ryan Williams follows with four RBIs. Senior Max Pawela has recorded the Bearcats' only other homer of the season.
 
Graduate Jacob Selock, Williams, and Ashton Neuman each swiped a base, going a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.  

Junior right-hander Brock Steggall secured the save in Northwest's 9-5 victory in game three, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out one over three innings of work.
