Bradley resets own school record, Bearcats close regular season at Last Chance Meet

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field teams delivered numerous season-best times at the Last Chance Meet, highlighted by senior Grant Bradley's record-breaking run in the 3000m, as the Bearcats wrapped up the regular season Saturday evening inside Hughes Fieldhouse. 

Field Events
Men's Long Jump: Freshman Wyatt Garner secured first place with a 6.85m leap, tying his personal best. Freshman Jonathan Hedrick finished fifth at 6.48m.

Women's Long Jump: Grace Hill captured a second-place finish with a final jump of 5.32 meters. 

Women's Weight Throw: Alli Poage provided the fifth-best throw of 13.28 meters. 

Running Events
Men's 3000m: Senior Grant Bradley opened the meet with a dominant performance, setting both a new school record and fieldhouse record with a time of 7:53.33. Bradley previously set the school record at the Washburn Open on Jan. 31 but shattered his own mark with this first-place finish. His time ranks fifth in NCAA Division II this season.

Junior Drew Atkins took third place with a season-best 7:55.69, which ranks No. 8 in Division II.

Freshman Nick Kolonzo (8:54.35) and junior Austin Goetsche (8:56.48) placed 11th and 12th, respectively, while freshman Elijah Dix (9:07.07) finished 16th.

Men's 60m Hurdles: Junior Vashon Riggins placed fourth with a time of 8.96.

Women's 60m Hurdles: Senior Hannah Hatzenbuehler claimed the event title with a personal-best 8.93, while freshman Millie Wempen also set a new PR, finishing fifth in 9.82.

Men's 60m Dash: Sophomores Xavier Horn (7.016) and Quinn Gruver (7.020) finished in third and fourth, as freshman Wyatt Garner placed 14th with a 7.18.

Women's 60m Dash: Freshman Campbell Barta led a deep Bearcat squad, winning the event with a provisional time of 7.57. Kyah Luhring, Jaurdin Mallory, and Hallie Henfling finished consecutively behind Barta. 

Freshmen Krysta Abel and Courtney Kiley tied for eighth at 8.034. Reese Brown (8.33) and Emma Lundy (8.54) placed 11th and 13th, respectively.

Women's Mile: Ava Gehlen set a personal best, finishing second in 5:22.03, while Amanda Seggerman followed in third at 5:24.20.

Men's 200m Dash: Horn got his revenge in the sprints when he claimed first with a time of 22.04, despite Gruver's 22.31 time in second. 

Women's 200m Dash: Five Bearcats claimed the top nine spots in the event, with Jaurdin Mallory (25.83), Courtney Kiley (26.05) and Krysta Abel securing the two-three-four positions. Reese Brown claimed 6th, clocking in at 27.80, as Emma Lundy rounded off 9th at 28.23. 

Men's 600y Run: Four total runners competed in the event, as three were Bearcats – each claiming the first-three spots. Christian Lanphier led the pack with a 1:11.76 clocking with Bret Beard crossing at 1:12.00 and Bret Beard at 1:12.50. 

Men's 800m Run: Freshmen Ryker Pithan and Andres Kemper were Northwest's participants in the event. Pithan secured 5th with a time of 1:54.85, as Kemper took 7th at 1:56.05. 

Women's 800m Run: Senior Bailey Blake snatched a new provisional time of 2:10.84. Blake's time stands at No. 31 in Div. II.

Men's Mile Run: Freshman Levi Allen came in at 4:26.10 in 3rd place, running alongside four other participants.
