SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The No. 17-ranked Augustana Vikings recorded a 4-2 dual win over the No. 23-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team Thursday at the Huether Match Pointe indoor courts.
The Vikings improved to 4-1, while the Bearcats dropped to 1-1 on the season.Â
Northwest captured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The No. 1 doubles pairing of
Marielena Muench and
Camilla Franzin gained a 10-8 win in a tiebreaker. The No. 2 duo of
Alva Norberg and Anne Carvahlo Pereira gained a 6-4 win to secure the doubles point for the Bearcats.
Norberg was the only Bearcat to capture a singles win. Norberg gained a 7-6, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles to give the Bearcats their second point in the dual.
