Men’s DMR, Saenz tabbed MIAA Athletes of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State men's distance medley relay team and senior sprinter Chloe Saenz were named MIAA Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Bearcat Invite, announced Tuesday.

The Bearcat distance medley relay team—Riley Witt, Logan Arellano, Maxime Touron, and Grant Bradley—delivered an NCAA Division II-leading performance at the Bearcat Invitational, clocking 9:37.78 to secure the event title.

Their time ranks among the top 10 all-time in all conditions, factoring in oversized tracks such as the 300-meter oval inside Hughes Fieldhouse. The Bearcats' mark stands as the second-fastest across all collegiate divisions this season, trailing only NCAA Division I Virginia Tech. It also represents the best NCAA DII time in 2025 by a commanding nine-second margin over Western Washington and is the fastest DII mark recorded since 2022.

Saenz, a Kansas City, Mo., native, recorded a pair of NCAA Division II provisional marks at the 2025 Bearcat Invite in the 400-meter dash and the distance medley relay. Saenz posted the nation's fourth-fastest time in the 400-meter dash (54.17) and ran the second leg of the women's distance medley relay, which recorded the seventh-best time in the country this season (11:32.38).
