Northwest Missouri State University senior Melanie Roland has been named the MIAA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week sponsored by Beynon, the official track surface of the MIAA.

Roland (Pointe-Noire, Guadeloupe) posted the No. 1 time in the nation in the women's 400 meters at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic. Roland clocked a time of 54.45 to capture first-place honors in her first meet of the season. Roland is a three-time NCAA All-America honoree.

All 11 MIAA track and field programs were in action over the weekend with multiple athletes posting top NCAA Division II marks.
