Four Bearcats gain Don Hansen All-America status

The Don Hansen Football Committee has released the 2025 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team, which includes a quartet of Northwest Missouri State University football players.

Second Team All-America
Kaleb McCullough, OL
Clayton Power, DL

Honorable Mention All-America
Carter Edwards, LB
Wes Merriman, OL

It is the fourth All-America accolade for senior defensive lineman Clayton Power this season. He was a first-team AFCA selection and a second-team choice by the Associated Press and the D2CCA. Power was named the MIAA Defensive Lineman of the Year.

It is the second All-America honor for sophomore offensive lineman Kaleb McCullough. McCullough started all 12 games at left tackle and was a first-team all-MIAA pick.

It is the first All-America award for both senior linebacker Carter Edwards and senior offensive lineman Wes Merriman. Edwards was a unanimous first-team all-MIAA pick as he led the Bearcats in tackles (85), tackles-for-loss (13), forced fumbles (4) and interceptions (2). Merriman started all 12 games at center and was also a first-team all-MIAA honoree.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
