THIS WEEK'S ACTION
The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball squad (7-3 overall, 2-0 MIAA) will look to extend its six-game overall winning streak and improve on its seven-game home-court winning streak with a pair of non-conference games following finals week.
    Northwest will play host to Baker (Dec. 15, 6 p.m.) and Buena Vista (Dec. 17, 5:30 p.m.) in Bearcat Arena. Baker is 2-8, while Buena Vista is 4-4.

ALL-TIME VS BAKER
Northwest is 3-0 all-time vs. Baker with all three matchups having occurred in the 1980s. Baker is an NAIA member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

    Buena Vista is an NCAA Div. III member of the American Rivers Conference based in Storm Lake, Iowa.

SIX-GAME WIN STREAK
Northwest's six-game winning streak ranks tied for the 11th-best active win streak among NCAA Div. II women's basketball teams.  It ranks as the top streak in the MIAA.
    The last time Northwest won seven games in a row came at the start of the 2023-24 season (Nov. 10, 2023 - Dec. 2, 2023). Northwest also won seven games in a row from Nov. 13, 2021 - Dec. 11, 2021.
    The Bearcats won 11 consecutive games in the 2010-11 season (Dec. 8, 2010 - Jan. 26, 2011).
    The school record for consecutive wins is 20 in a row to begin the 1983-84 season (Nov. 18, 1983 - Feb. 1, 1984).

SEVEN IN A ROW AT HOME
Dating back to last season, Northwest has won seven consecutive home games in Bearcat Arena.
    Northwest's seven-game home win streak ranks as the second-longest active home winning streak among MIAA schools trailing Washburn (8).
    It is Northwest's longest home-court winning streak since an eight-game streak in the 2021-22 season.
    Northwest's longest home-court winning streak was 16 in a row from Feb. 27, 2010 to Feb. 23, 2011.

MIAA REGULAR SEASON WIN STREAK
The Bearcat women have won four consecutive MIAA regular season games dating back to the 2024-25 season.
    Northwest closed the 2024-25 MIAA season with home wins over Newman and Emporia. The Bearcats opened 2025-26 league play with victories over Missouri Western and Emporia State.

MEYER IN OVERTIME
Head coach Austin Meyer is 7-3 in overtime games since taking over the program in 2018. Meyer and the Bearcats have won four consecutive overtime decisions.
    Northwest moved to 2-0 in MIAA play with a 77-70 overtime win over Emporia State on Dec. 4.

Northwest owns the league's top field goal defense at 34.4%. Northwest ranks No. 29 in the nation in field percentage defense.
    Emporia State is the first team to shoot better than 40.0% from the floor against the Bearcats this season.

DOUBLE-DOUBLES COMING IN BUNCHES
Northwest has produced three double-doubles in the last two games in wins over Missouri Western and Emporia State.
    Sadie Maas has produced back-to-back double-doubles with 12 points and 12 rebounds at Missouri Western and 14 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime win over Emporia State.
    Andrea Lopreato collected her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. Emporia State.

LOPREATO TOPS SQUAD IN SCORING
Junior Andrea Lopreato leads the Bearcats in scoring and ranks No. 9 in the MIAA at 14.9 points per game.
    Lopreato dropped a Bearcat single-game scoring record of 40 points in a 75-64 win over Sioux Falls (Nov. 14) at Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo.
    Lopreato also tops the squad in steals (15) and free throws made (40).

FROM DOWNTOWN
Freshman Bailey Birmingham leads the MIAA and ranks No. 20 in the country with 23 three-pointers made.
    She also ranks third in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.426).
    Birmingham has made at least one three-pointer in all nine games this has played this season.
    She ranks No. 2 in the team in scoring at 11.7 points per game.

Sophomore Sadie Maas is Northwest's top shot blocker (20) and rebounder (7.4 rpg).
    Maas ranks No. 10 in the nation and No. 2 in the MIAA in blocked shots (20). She ranks tied for second in the MIAA in total rebounds (74).
    Maas put up a career-high 13-rebound effort against Wayne State. Maas possesses six career 10-plus rebound performances as a Bearcat, including four this season.
    Maas has collected 68 career blocked shots to rank No. 10 on Northwest's all-time blocked shots list. Maas has blocked at least one shot in 31 games as a collegiate player.

100 WINS FOR MEYER
Head coach Austin Meyer recorded his 100th career coaching victory in Northwest's Nov. 22 win over Lincoln.
    Meyer is the third Bearcat women's coach to reach 100 or more victories joining Wayne Winstead (311) and Gene Steinmeyer (189). Meyer has posted 104 career wins entering this week's action against Baker and Buena Vista.

DRE-LO DROPS 40, SCHOOL RECORD VS. SIOUX FALLS
Junior transfer Andrea Lopreato set the Bearcat single-game scoring record with 40 points against Sioux Falls at Civic Arena on Nov. 14.
    Lopreato became the first Bearcat women's basketball player to score 40 points in a game. It tied for the 14th-best single-game scoring mark in league history.
    Lopreato is one of six NCAA Div. II players to put up a 40-point scoring game this season.
    She also set the single-game school records for free throws made (19) and attempted (21) in the game. Lopreato set the MIAA single-game record with 19 made free throws vs. Sioux Falls.
